DDM Scoop duct problems

About a year ago, I put a DDM cold air race intake on my car. I've only had one issue with it. After a few months, two of the screws holding the scoop duct to the bonnet failed, so any time I'd open it up, the thing would hang down.

I emailed DDM, and they sent me some spare screws out right away. Great service on their end

Unfortunately, it happened again. I was hoping someone has had this issue and found a better solution than replacing the screws with the same piece of hardware that seems to be prone to failure. Anyone have some suggestions? For the time being I'm just running the car with the duct, just the airbox open to the engine bay.

Thanks!

I've attached a photo of the screw and the expandable rivet piece it goes in. Both parts are plastic. These are the type that came with the intake, and also identical to the replacements DDM sent me a while back. The screw heads end up shearing off.

These are different than what they show on their website for the expandable rivets. http://www.ddmworks.com/Expandable-R...ini_p_158.html I'm almost wondering if that is what they used to provide, but the ones I have are a cheaper "equivalent" part that fails after less than a year.

I know how to fix it but how to explain it is hard. Google push on speed nut. then can use normal screw with threads. metal wont dry out and crack.

I will be doing same thing once I get min one.
