RMW V Mynes, which is better? Where are they?
I live in Los Angeles, I think both Mynes and RMW are close. Is there a general preference between them? How dangerous is a tune? I can't find any info on RMW other than it's called Revolution Mini Works, run by someone named Jan, and has a website, but the website doesn't work. Those that have used either, what is your experience? Any posts or PMs would be appreciated.

Probably not too many will try to answer you as RMW is not a vendor on this site and it's frowned apon to speak about them. At one point I thought that Mynes was getting away from tuning MINIs and had moved on to other cars. Actually I think they'd still tune them they just weren't pushing/advertising tuning MINIs anymore which may be a sign.... Do some internet searching..

Jan of RMW tuned my car for my bolt on parts and for the Meth kit. Only good things to say and he always makes the most power that you can safely run. He has more experience on MINIs than anyone I know and if you want to go past the normal parts he can build you whatever level of MINI power you care to spend from Mild to Wild Jan is the Man!

Why would the forum prevent someone from discussing a tuner just because they aren't a vendor?
How could the forum ever be considered an independent source of information, help, and advice which in general is why they exist?
It is indeed, tiring, reading stuff from certain tuners, going either way, or their staff sometimes, or groupies, slating each others practices, products, reliability etc. I for one, want to hear both sides of any story. I certainly do not want to be a forum member if I have to support or favour, or live in awe of, the companies that sponsor it. That's just bollocks frankly.
There are key recognised people messing with, and providing services for, these cars. In general, and I've no experience of them yet because of it, I can't find much about RMW that doesn't turn into something else on forums. It just muddies the waters. Some of these people need to get professional so we can choose based on accurate advice and valid opinion.
It reads like a rant doesn't it haha, glad to see so many are positive about this company. Ok, it was a bit......carry on :-)

And as to "is it safe"...
Comes down to what you want...tell the tuner, RMW/Jan will adjust the agressivness of the tune...
A safe road tune, or an aggressive "race tune" for max HP for bragging rites.....
As Jan says, look at my trophy's. He tunes cars for a living, and has had many successes on the touring car circurt, and when I met him, he was seemed like an honest, ex marine. He tunes for $$, so don't expect to get hours of chit-chat and hand holding...time is $$ and he NEEDS to move on. Many of the unhappy folks would IMO NEVER BE HAPPY...
Some cars at a tuning event see HUGE gains, some moderate, some none...depends on the health of the motor.

If you simply Google either RMW or Mynes Performance, you can find their website and/or forums, you can get their contact info from there.
The biggest difference between the two will be in the way they accomplish getting your car tuned, meaning whether it be in person, remotely with a Dyno or remotely on the street, they both have different options available.
As far as preferences, most of the time that's a behemoth sized can of worms and really doesn't need to be opened, everyone has their individual preferences and their individual reasons for those preferences, but either tuner will provide you with a quality tune.

They are both still in business, I think RMW is still doing tune parties, but only at specific locations like Helix.
But they BOTH do custom remote tunes, Mynes just also has the self tuning options.
The Mynes guys can be a little hard to get a hold of at first, but that is only when they are out of the country, once you get a tune started, it's all handled by e-mail and they will be available until it is finished.
