Drivetrain thought: velocity stack installed at throttle body?

thought: velocity stack installed at throttle body?
according to the guys building the Sneed Speed cooper, adding a velocity stack will add some HP.
now given these are fairly "cheap" (20 bucks or so) that is a good mod for good price (if we can get 5+ hp out of one).
sadly, no obvious place to install one of these (thought of slapping one on the intake hole of my JCW airbox, but anyway...) except for maybe in front of the TB (thinking thats the "best" place / only place with space).
so i was thinking, could you attach the VS to the TB with a silicone piece, then use another silicone adapter to go from the top half of the VS to the rest of the intake tube? (i already have a samco silicone hose). was thinking if you could use a reducer from the samco to the VS.
think theres enough room? think it will "help"? or will the SC just chew the air up making the entire endeavor pointless?
wish i would not have to cut my samco hose to test this theory, also considered buying actual "raw" silicone to make a hose myself. you can get very large sheets for like 30 bucks or so, they just require a bit of working to get it from sheet to final product.

if anything i could see it in the intake to help the flow to the charger, after charger i dont think it would do squat potential vortex generators in the TB area may help more. but i think they are seeing the difference in their air box, because its a square with two filters in it, where as we have cone filters going into a tube.
