Second hand intercooler - What should I look out for?
Hi NAM,
I'm just about to purchase a second hand Forge Intercooler, it's been on the vehicle for approx. 10,000km.
Are there anything in particular I should be looking out for? Also grabbing the NM charge/discharge pipes of him too... Photos of the actual parts are in attachment.
Any advice will help me greatly, thank you in advance!

Indeed a happy lad! Getting them sprayed in black for a stealthy look, should have the time to install it this week.
Meanwhile my milltek downpipe is still in the UK.. Ordered it on September 11th but apparently Milltek haven't send them the part for them to ship out to me...not sure if Milltek or pumaspeed.co.uk is the one with bad service...

just know painting your intercooler black will make it less efficient since you are adding an insulating layer but other than that, welcome to the black intercooler club(i have one on my mini as well)

Took the intercooler into the local radiator shop yesterday and gave it a good flush since it had a fair amount of the oil residue, while doing that they found a couple of leaks around the welds, nothing major but that's all repaired now and it only took $25 out of my pocket.
Now I've dropped the intercooler off at another workshop to give it a thermal dispersant coating (TLTD). Not sure if it will do much on the cooling effectiveness, but the finishing color will be a semi-gloss black, so I guess its a two birds one stone thing?

Meanwhile with the NM pipings, the original NM blue finish was all scratched up, so I decided to get it powder coated. I choose a similar finish to the AEM intake grey since I'll be ordering that in soon or later. (I don't like too many different colours in my engine bay!)
Was going to do it myself but only costing $20, I left it to the shop! Came out pretty nice.
P.S. Bad quality photo, iPhone struggles.
