Installed a Muffler Express catback on my R56 S...

I found these on Ebay a few months ago for $249 shipped. Muffler Express sells these right to Mini dealers in Canada as a dealer installed accessory. If you look them up on YouTube (mufexpress), you'll see videos of Minis with dealer plates on them running this exhaust. It's basically a 2.5" mandrel bent catback with no resonator, which exits through two 3.5" tips in the stock location. It takes about 20 minutes to install, and fits like stock, just behind the cat. I had been running the stock system with muffler delete up to this point, and the new one is considerably louder although it sounds very good. My butt dyno tells me that the turbo spools up slightly quicker, although I could be mistaken. The only thing that sucks about it is it's aluminized, but I plan to paint it with some VHT to prolong the life.

Muffler Express was great to work with, and managed to get me the parts in less than a week, despite being in Canada. Definitely work a look if you're thinking about going with a catback and don't want to spend a grand to get into one.

Can we get these in the States? Commiefornia? I would love to not spend a grand on an exhaust!

$249 shipped to the US from Canada! I couldn't believe how fast I got it...less than a week from ordering it, and I had it on the car.

You can reach them at 866-811-1121, or info@mufflerexpress.com. I haven't seen any on Ebay in awhile, but they're still available if you ask them. I'll post pics of mine shortly.

If you look on YouTube under 'mufexpress', there are several R56 cars with this exhaust to listen to. It's loud, even with the cats, but it sounds good.

Dang, the black car on their youtube channel sounds terrible. Hopefully there is something different about that car besides their catback.

Not for me, that's for sure. Price is right though.

Mini Cooper R56S /w/intake and catback:

I think it sounds good. I just took a quick one while driving across town for lunch.

I was surprised how quite that system is. I figured it would be insanely loud.

Sounds good.

With a turbo and two cats, there is already lots of muffling. Are you running a CAI? I like the sound. Especially the intake sound, and the BOV. Would all of this work on a 2011 N18?

Sounds and looks a lot like the Magnaflow catback I just had installed - 2.5" pipe with 3.5" tips.

It's pretty loud at cold start, but quiets down considerably after a few minutes. I made that video with the top open and windows down. My car's got a cheapy short ram intake with K&N cone, and an intake muffler delete pipe. You should be able to easily do the same thing to the N18.
