So I'm cruising along the freeway at somewhat paralegal speeds in the new MCS (478 miles), and approach a lifted F-150 with big, noisy offroad tires from the rear. I see a stone get kicked up from the left rear tire and everything goes into slow motion. It's about as big as my thumb and oscillating  . I think about the call to the insurance company and pull over to the side of the road.

There's a big splotch of stone dust, and an itty-bitty pit you can't see, but can only feel

Three days and 350 miles later - nothing.

You think they finally got it right?

Nope, I think you got lucky. Good on you!

(a rock that size hitting like that could have chipped ANY windshield...or not....it's luck)

That tiny little "you can't see but you can feel" pit will slowly become a crack... but I really wish you all the best.

You could have one of those windshield guys treat the windshield so that feel doesn't spread into a crack.

FWIW, I had a starburst (or whatever you want to call it) treated by one of those glass companies and it's held up perfectly. And this is with the old windshield.

So even if the pit were to become a crack (and this I doubt) I wouldn't be overly concerned.

MiniChristina's right -- I had an MPV that was a rock magnet. The only one I didn't seal was the one that cracked the whole windshield.

I'm going to get it done this weekend.
