A Subaru AccessPORT can not be converted to work for the Mini.

ALTA: are you guys ever going to make an accessport for the R53.....i feel left out. ughh...

Right now we don't have any plans to make the AccessPORT compatible for the R53, sorry.

Can you even get past the BMW/MINI Firewall on the OBD2 Port?

What's the time frame for you guys reading a datalog and getting a new tune back to a customer. Average time that is, I understand it will fluctuate depending on how busy things are and all that stuff.

Ok maybe Im hoping and wishing too hard but I was just thinking. Its just a thought but I have a 2011 MCS but it has build date of 10/10 on the oor sticker. Would that be considered a 2010 and therefore I can get the Acessport now? *crosses fingers*

Apologies if this is addressed earlier in the 95 pages of thread; but searching came up empty.

I'm having trouble using my AP to pull error codes on my '07 MCS. I have a CEL (showing CCID 31 on the dash - cold Ontario weather, so it's more than likely an iced up throttle); but when I use the AP to try and pull codes I get nothing. All the logging and live data feeds are fine.

Any suggestions?

They already have one. It's called "15% reduction pulley"

Normally it will be less than a week. But it depends on the type of map you need.

Yes for sure we can. COBB is working on the compatibility, and it's not a matter of if they can do it, it's a matter of when they have the time to do it, since they are dedicating all of their tuning staff on developing new BMW tuning.

Most likely your car is a 2011, they best way to check would be checking your vin with the dealer.

Are you currently running an ALTA tune? I'm not familiar with that code. Have you tried clearing the code to see if it comes back?

CCID 31 is an emission error... And it turns out, amusingly, to have been thrown because my timing chain was very shortly to shatter. She's currently in the dealership having pieces pulled out of the oil pan....

But my actual issue with the AP was that I didn't get any codes at all showing when I hooked it up. Should the engine have been running, or just the clutch up start button?

You will need to have the car in the ON position for it to read the codes. Otherwise, the ECU isn't going to be turned on. Did you make sure to uninstall the AccessPORT before taking it into the dealer?

Yes, I did - and I just got the call today saying that it's all going to be covered under warranty. Hopefully I should be getting her back tomorrow...

Now, and again forgive my hopelessness - what constitutes the "On" position on the R56? The start button makes it slightly less intuitive than a standard turnable key.

OK good. It is kind of confusing, since it has the start button now. If you have a manual transmission car, hit the start button twice, so that the gas lights are on. Then you can load a map, or clear CELs.

On the Auto, hit the start button twice without putting you foot on the brake pedal.

open you bonnet. Can you see the four spark plug wires on top of the engine? If so you are good to go. If there is a cover over them then no joy.

Quick question, and I am sure it is answered somewhere in the previous 95 pages of this thread and the search function pulls up EVERY post with the word "warranty" in it.

If you install the AccessPORT and then remove it when bringing the vehicle to the dealer for service, is there ANY indication that the PCM has been re-flashed at ANY time with an aftermarket tune? I know there were some issues with Ford's that saved this data and could easily void any warranty of your car.

Thanks!

Hello, the dealer doesn't have a way to tell that the PCM was reflashed. But if they send your data to BMW, which they do sometimes for major warranty work, they might be able to tell.

Seriously guys, can we stop? They know you want one for the 2011's etc, but you gotta remember it's a brand new platform and extremely difficult thanks to BMW

Stop asking because it's not like it'll give them a miracle break through. I see atleast a post a day of '11 owners saying they want one.

Gosh lay off.

I agree. I'm sure ALTA will make an announcement when the software is ready. There's no need to keep asking

The ability to tune this way has been capable by most companies pursuing a 2011+ tuning solution, including Alta / Cobb for over a year. Cobb could have easily offered this service, but In the interest of their customers they chose not to do this. There are numerous headaches and hidden cost involved with flashing an ECU this way.

why are their torque gains so low? is it because the n18 is initially tuned better?

only 8 ft/lbs doesn't seem like a huge gain
