Clint, I hate you.

Well, no, I don't - but my bank account does. And my wife, even though she doesn't know you.

When will you release pricing on this? I may need to farm my kids out for day labor...

I think there MIGHT be just enough room for an OCC behind it

Sushil with BSH and I talked about OCC mounting locations at AMVIV. We did some test fits with one of their catch cans in various spots within the engine bay during downtime at the vendor area. It looks like there will still be room for an OCC behind the barrel or at the front of the engine bay where the cold side tube used to come up from the intercooler.

I promise to get pricing off to you all this week. It's been a hectic couple of days since returning back to SF from Sin City.

Let us know about the new R53 stuff when it comes out. Sounds like a nice price break if it all works out.

If testing proves what our math is showing, we'll revolutionize intercooling for the R53.
Clint any news yet or too early?

The prototype R53 intercooler cores are in. We're getting these custom made for us and the craftsmanship from our vendor is impressive. I'm working on the IC end tank designs in SolidWorks this week. We're pretty pumped.

The R56 W2A IC release has been delayed. (MANY apologies.) A vendor who makes some of our mounting brackets has them on backorder. Looks like it will be out in early June. The upshot is that we have more time to work on the new R53 IC.

We're working and waiting in eager anticipation on both the R53 and R56 fronts. It's going to be a fun summer!

Last question is the R53 going to be an A2A or W2A design?

I don't mean to hijack the thread or anything but what do you guys think about this intercooler by Tyrol Sport in Queens, NY? I came across it on NEMini.org.

That's not thread hijacking, it's just sharing information.

Looks cool. I just wonder what the pressure drop is like on a core that large.

EDIT:
They describe their testing procedure in detail on their site. Their pressure drop number is noted as 0.5@ 20psi. Since their core volume is 41.4% larger than stock, I'm really curious as to how this thing feels when accelerating from a stop or after slowing when exiting hairpins.

I was going to leave my power train stock. Well ,a vapor separator looks to be necessary. But. WOW. I like. Looks like it leaves room to stick a 42dd separator in there next to the expansion tank.

That is one tall design... but for that price... very ugly!

It really depends on your dealership. When it comes down to it, by definition this is just an aftermarket intercooler.
