R56 S PCV System ?

Got a question about the dual PCV system on the R56 turbo. Can the left side tube be blocked or is there too much crankcase pressure from the turbo for a single tube (rt. side) to handle. Putting a OCC on the right side to cure the oil fouling of the turbo and IC, but want to do something to stop/slowdown the carbon fouling of intake valves caused by the left side PCV system. BTW, checked the Gen2 site for this problem and found nothing but Gen1 posts! What gives?

attach a catch can to the line or get water/meth injection.

I distinctly remember someone on NAM finding that more CC vapor passes through the PCV tube before the throttle body. Like James said, a catch can will slow it down, but if you don't want to invest in a mod like water/meth injection, you'll have to treat the intake tract buildup with Seafoam.

If you're really hardcore you'll take off your intercooler to clean it and make an attemp to clean the compressor blades on the turbo!

Just took my forge IC off and cleaned it with brake parts cleaner, also gonna seafoam and install 2 catch cans one for each vent pipe coming off the valve cover. Got 44,200 miles on my 07 r56s. i'll try and post pics.

When you refer to "left & right", you refer to them as sitting in the car, correct? That's industry standard. No harm or foul but that's how the following is written.

The right PCV tube operates under manifold vacuum conditions and closes when manifold pressures go positive from turbo spool. During positive manifold pressure situations (boost), the "left" PCV vent to the turbo inlet is where vacuum is present and that is why there are two crankcase vents in intake tract.

The "right" vent definitely pushes more vapors. Ultimately, you want to catch all the crap with two catch cans.

Good luck, it's a worth-while investment.

Thanks Paul, kinda figured it would take 2 OCCs. Would really like to see a pic of how/where to squeeze in the left side can. Anybody?

i had the forge IC at least 30,000 miles and when i look it off it had a nice size puddle of oil on the hot side of the intercooler end tank as well as the boost tube.

Please do! What are the dimensions (height & diameter) on that eBay OCC? Very interested to see that left side mount when done. Might use it on the left side, but will stick with the 42 Draft Design can on the right as it's baffled. Thanks much.

Takes a little over 2 hours if you are a pro and all day if you are all thumbs.

Easy install,if you can hard wire a radar detecter you can install a meth kit.

get the RMW aquamist(tell Jan I sent you) if you want the best and can afford it,if not buy the aem with the small tank. You need meth in the tropical climate the we have in the Sunshine state.

Look around on the net for a deal

I have a direct contact so mine was FREE .

The system in my car is a overkill in a cooper ,it is a kit for hdi diesels with a 5 gallon tank .

Are you coming up to orlando for the RMW tune party at Macedo Motorsports ?

AEM meth kit: how does it operate? I have no experience with them. I'm assuming it doesn't splice into any wires, so it must run off vacuum? Are there any cons or risks with running a meth+water kit?

water meth is a win win only drawback is you need to refill the 1 gallon tank every few thousand miles
It is wired and runs off a boost sensor .
