R56 boost reading: REV2 vs. boost gauge

I am calling to both users of REV and REV2 software and users of classic boost gauge.

I use a Kiwi WiFi and REV2 setup with my iPhone 3GS to monitor engine vitals, started to use the setup a few days ago. Everything works fine and I love it, but though I can record a run and see the values on a graph aftertwards, I cant see a precise reading at a certain point on the graph, I have to read on a scale that gives me a good but approximate reading.

In my case, on a 1st to 5th gear hard acceleration, it seems like my maximum turbo boost is just above 11 PSI, probably 11.1 to 11.3. Does this seem like a normal value? I read in quite a few other posts some people saying stock boost is more around 13.5 PSI. So just to know if something is wrong on my side I'd like to know what others get.

My car setup: 08 MCS, Alta CAI, boost tubes, Alta stealth catback.

Just to add a detail... I found a way to read a precise measure by logging a run and exporting it to Excel...

The peak boost I was able to achieve in 3 runs is 11.55 PSI

Doesn't that sound kinda low?

That does seem low. Have you checked everything is tight, no leaks, no holes worn in the tubes?

Using rev1 I managed to see 14 to 16 on an up the gears run with my 07.

I have not tried it with rev2, but I will when I get back to Colorado and the MINI. Out of state right now.

Don

It's not low, its right on...especially if you have an 08.

It seems that number might not be an overboost number though...it will be a few pounds higher with overboost.

Boost on these cars are all over the place, depending which version of software you are running.

Up to now I thought everything was normal so no, I didn't notice any leak or hole, but I didn't inspect neither. I will do a good one today!

A leak would have to be after the turbo to cause a boost leak, right? Because all I have changed is the filter (Alta CAI) and turbo inlet hose, everything else is OEM and untouched...

Thanks for that precious info! I inspected everything and nothing seems wrong, so I guess these are just my car's numbers!

Now tomorrow morning I will do a few runs with my newly installed UNICHIP and see if the numbers change... The pedal sure gives more feedback!

You're not alone. I'm lucky to hit 12psi with overboost. I desperately need a tune LOL!
