According to this chart, they are not colder. They are the exact same heat range, once you do the conversion between both brands. You would need the equivalent of a Denso spark plug with a heat range of 24 or NGK 8 to be one heat range colder than stock.

If you change to non oem plugs be sure to check the torque on a regular basis. You wouldn't want a spark plug flying out of your head.
