Tuners in Florida

Can anybody recommend a good tuner in Florida? I have a bunch of mods done to my MINI but no tune to really maximize the benefits of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think Thumper in Jacksonville does tunes. I think Mynes does a remote tune (they send you the tune based on your mods and you upload it and send them back a log file or something). I think RMW might have remote tunes as well.

Other than that, I don't know.

Thanks for the reply. Jacksonville is about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me so that would work if he is available to do it. How would I go about uploading a remote tune to my car if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

We aren't in FL, but we are in Atlanta and we are a Full service shop and do Full custom tuning. We'll be happy to set a day aside for you.

FYI, thumper doesn't do tuning. He just makes cylinder heads.

I'm in south florida and talked to Jan and Mynes. Well Jan charges $350 for tune and then you will need to purchase the module that plugs in your car for $350. Thats a little pricey for a tune. Mynes will have their setup in a few months I guess. Their is a guy in miami that south florida mini club uses. Maybe someone can chime with his info.

Louis, at precision, does tuning in Miami. You may be closer to way. RMW has done a Florida tune. Mynes will be doing one as well (when I have my engine built and send them the airfare). Where in Florida are you located? It is a big state. Pm me if you would like.

I am in Tampa. I would prefer to take it to a shop if at all possible, that way I know it will be done correctly.

Bean do you have his contact info? Have you used him before? Is he reasonably priced?

Here is the contact info;
Precision Auto Werks
7254 NW 25th Street
Miami Florida
305 591 7434
Luis Sanchez (owner)

I haven't used him, but he has a large loyal following here. His prices are reported to be very good.

Ian Stuart, maitland imports, in orlando, can probably help with a romote RMW tune. He will have the required hardware.

My question for remote tuning always is... why can't multiple people chip in for the flash loader for $350 and then just pay for their own tune and take turns using the flash loader to load tunes into their own MINIs? Those flash loaders are just another way to make more money.

Because every car has a different code for the anti theft module and ZCS coding. So the modules have to copy that code and use it to upload and download each file. The modules can only be burned with one code, if you use a different code than what your car has, you'll lock up the ECU and make it a paperweight. Plus the module manufactures would sell less modules.

I have got to get a ride in your car when you get everything done lol.

To the OP. I've talked to Louis at Precision about tuning and he seems to have gotten some good results. FWIW, he won't tune my car with the 19% pulley, not sure if that'll be the case with your 17% pulley.

I was told you can use the flash tool on multiple mini's. I will find out for sure later. If it was not designed for use with multiple tools then I would think they should sell it all together not 2 items. First tune $700 and additional tunes $350. It would be more of a programmer than a tool. Tool can be used multiple times. I emailed Jan so lets see what he says..

As for now you can not use flash tool on multiple MCS only one. They are looking for a solution to the problem. We will have to wait till SEMA auto show to find out. So
