hey guys about the hesitation issue, im currently having the same problem. i got my tune the same time btwdriver did. during that time i was having issues with my transmission, ended up mini gave me a brand new one.
so when im in 1st gear it bogs/ surges around 3k and also in 2nd gear. but when i drive in sports mode it goes away. i checked all my hosing to see if i have a leak somewhere but everything is fine. i also have check engine lights on from my dp.
is it a bad fuel pump possibly? or new spark plugs?

So what's the deal with that hesitation issue that happens after getting the RMW tune? It has been mentioned several times earlier in this thread. Has it been resolved yet?

The "hesitation" is so minimal it's not really a concern. Let me put it this way... the hesitation is no worse than the "surge" on the automatics on a stock MCS.

Hesistation?
My car is so far from having any form of hesistation...throttle response is instantaneous, and turbo spool is so quick. I find I can't drive around town in Sport mode all the time like I used to as its so uber sensitive now. In a good way though...
Makes going down and pushing that Sport button a tasty little treat

To be clear, some of us reporting hesitiation (myself) do not attribute it to the tune. I had a hesitation problem prior to the RMW Tune, which is one of the reasons I wanted a tune. The tune did not immediately resolve the hesitation, but after a couple of weeks I no longer needed the Sport button to avoid the lag at launch. I do not know why this took a couple of weeks to clear up, but it did. Maybe the "learning" mode on the ECU reset and caught up? Dunno.

I can't use the sport button when driving around town anymore either or else it looks like I'm trying to race everyone. I occasionally turn it on on the highway, but frankly I don't need it now. With it off it's like it was before with it on.

I am not sure if this is the right thread but what the heck. My question is this: If I put a RMW tune on my car with the flash tool and then restore it back to stock for service, does MINI know that I did this? I am worried about my warranty...

Mini has the technology to figure it out, but no-ones had any problems yet. That being said, no-one's had any problems with the RMW tune yet either, it's usually the stickers on your car and your attitude going into the shop that lead to warranty issues.
I just re-read what you said, with the flash tool, you should be able to erase any trace that you've made any modifications to the ecm. BMW did add a flash counter to the 135i's mid production so they could tell if it'd been reflashed, I doubt you'll find anyone who can tell you in advance of actually getting your car what ECM issues you might run into. You always want to drive a new car for a bit and give it the shakedown before you start modding things anyways. If you're wanting to get in on the group buy for the flash tool, send Jan a message and get his feedback, he's likely to know more on the subject.
Congrats on the new Mini.
I am already in on the group buy. I will drive my car for a while before I mod it. As long as I have the tool, I can get the tune anytime. I just want to make sure the tune. Thanks for the input.

I also enjoy the hesitation in first gear. It only happens when I try to accelerate nicely and then hammer it at around 2500 rpm. Then it hesitates at about 3500ish and then pulls again, but once I hit second gear it pulls sooo hard!! Also, I have had a CEL come on about 4 times in the 9 months that I've had the tune. It is an O2 sensor caused CEL, and I have had my O2 sensor replaced and have still had it come on. I will talk to Jan about it, and see what he thinks. But, all in all I LOVE the tune!!

It might be the DP giving the CEL and not the tune. But I'm sure that you've already considered this.

Yep, that's why I don't even flinch if the CEL comes on. Pop out my OBD II Scanner and clear the code. Actually had to do it on the Death Valley Run at AMVIV. I'm excited for the Remote Tune Tool!!!

I am sorry if this has been covered in another thread, but I cannot find any information about it.
Will the new tune by any chance what so ever, be able to tell the ECU to quit reading the o2 sensor in the DP, or to just ignore it, so we can run catless dp's without having a CEL on?
