What about this intercooler

I would be grateful for any feedback on the idea of changing the intercooler on the R56. I live in Taiwan and the minis are UK spec not USA. I have the stage 1 JCW. My local tuner recommended this:
http://www.gennexmotorsport.com/main.php?id=312&car=1

I have read about Helix and Alta but due to location, postage would be prohibitive. Do you think this would help performance bearing in mind Taiwan is hot, hot, hot and so very, very humid. Does the fact that it is obviously bigger make it better? No double entendre intended...

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

i don't know anything about this gennexmotorsport intercooler... but i can say that i'm guessing this one was looked into and was decently designed.... almost off the shelf in my opinion but i can't say anything about it honestly cuz i don't know the company. as for USDM like ALTA and Helix.... you can't go wrong with either of them, Helix especially was very well designed and extremely well done and proven in all daily driving situations and track ones as well...

i know it's a typical thing but if you look around the forums, there's plenty of Intercooler discussions around

best of luck

Is it coming from Asia? That might jack the price up a bit.

Looks similar to the ALTA in size... 25hp is nuts and probably wasn't tested w/ IC alone. I can't read all of the text, numbers don't look right, maybe it was w/ the downpipe. It won't hurt, but you aren't going to get 25hp w/ it alone.

Now, that oil cooler looks very interesting.

It is thinner than the Alta. It looks very similar only thinner. I think those claims are BS and may be a good reasons to stay away. I think the "caugh" Alta is worth the extra money.
