Mini Mania BOOST UPGRADE PERFORMANCE KIT

Anyone have this kit installed?

http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMK1040/InvDetail.cfm

Looks like a decent deal. I would also add a intake and possibly a header but that would be as far as I would go with performance mods.

searched, but came up with nothing.

Whats wrong with that kit...

1. Does not mention pulley size

2. What brand plugs does it include

3. Both "tunes" are pretty much useless

You would better served going with a 15% pulley and 1 range colder NGK or Brisk plugs. You can probably find them in the range of $150 for the set saving at least $400 over that bundle.

It is a 15% pulley, and from the pics looks like Denso plugs. I am just unsure about the Shark Injector.

I want some type of fuel management if I go with a pulley upgrade, but I am not looking to spend $500+ to get a basic tune.

15% or 16 % pulley and Brisk plugs and save the $350 for custom tune.

Custom tune contact either RMW or Mynes.

Or just go untuned. You really dont need a tune for just a 15% pulley.

I would rather tune, why not get the most out of the mod?

It seems that they have been selling that kit with the Shark Injector for quite some time, not sure why there are not more people who have at least tried it.

Canned tunes can only do so much for your car. Plus you never know what it will do to your car since it is a generic tune. Custom tuning is specifically for your car, and will get the most horsepower and torque possible.

Ok sorry for the self promotion here, but want to get you a better package and hope this helps you. Here is our pulley package: http://www.waymotorworks.com/product...cat=325&page=1
It has everything you need. SS pulley to last forever, correct belt, reliable NGK plugs with correct heat range, and just for saftey the tensioner strap for insurance.
You don't HAVE to get any software with just a pulley. Trust me we've installed well over 300 pullies and a pulley alone won't cause your car to run lean. These cars run stinking rich, it's a big reason the pulley makes so much difference. We do custom tuning and even have what we call a quicktune or as some refer to as a "canned tune" What is that you say? Well like that shark injector is just a single map they put on every car. A shark injector just advances the timing and bumps the rev limiter. This is the most common practice with these plug and play items. How do I know you ask? Well my software like the RMW and Mynes software allows me to view all the mapping in the ECU no matter what co. or software you have. So when I download the map from the car, my software will compare it to the stock software for that ECU hardware and software number that your car has. Then it will show me what is changed. So YES I have downloaded the shark inj file off of customer car because it was what they had before our Full Custom tune. Let me just say I don't want that timing map on my car. Now you ask how our quicktune is a better "can tune". Well I wrote the map myself for one. And we change the physical drivabilty with it and maintain reliability. We can also change the fuel maps, Shark inj doesn't touch any fuel map. We can also change throttle maps, like the silly sprint booster, but also effect the traction control maps to make it less invasive. Plus a safe timing map, that won't hurt an engine longterm. Our quicktune is not designed to make big power, its for drivability and longevity.
So start with your pulley. Then think about a tune, you won't hurt the car in the mean time.

Thanks for the info.

I know the pulley will not hurt the car, just would at least like a base map to get more power out of it. I know a custom tune is best but normally that runs quite a bit more than a reflash or ecu swap.

The shark injector isn't a "real remap" it's just adding timing of about 7-12 across the entire timing map and an rpm bump. It doesn't change anything else.

As for price our quicktune is only $225 and a Full tune is $450. And that's been my pricing for over a year. But I'm not really trying to sell you on a tune, I'm trying to explain how the "shark injector" isn't worth it.
