Limiter in 1st gear?

Does anyone know if there is some kind of boost or torque limiter in 1st gear? It always felt like something was holding back the car when I would go WOT in 1st...and yes, this is with DSC OFF.

Now after the tune, with the increase in torque, its even more evident. 1st gear should light up the tires but it doesn't. Floor it in 1st, car doesn't really do a whole lot, then a quick shift into second and you feel overboost engage and the car flys.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this...searched but couldn't find anything

I believe there is a boost limiter in first gear because I always experience the same thing. I've heard that some boosted cars have lower boost limits in first gear. *shrug* Just my thought.

There is a torque limiter in first and second gear on the EU minis It doesnt limit much, expecially on tuned cars but its there. It kind of makes sense when you think of the k03 turbo and how early in the revs it can produce big torque numbers like 2500rpm and producing well over 210lbft torque (after remap.)

You can unlimit it during tune however after tuning for increased torque and power most tuners will still choose to have some sort of limit on first 2 gears just to save them from being too easily damaged. Or with US spec cars perhaps just your first gear.

Coopman - Im sure our remap deletes the limiter on 1st and 2nd. I remember talking to Will about this and im 99.99% positive he said one of the things he does is remove the torque limiters on 1st and 2nd gear?

I'm sure Will left them in, mine defiantly feels a little limited in the first 2 gears and I'm sure Will said he leaves them be to save clutches and stress on other components.
