I was assuming that I would have got around 5-9bhp from the header (;) ) so was hoping to be over the 240bhp mark... so have decided to change the pulley to get me up closer to where I want to be

Have now bought a new 'charger - so I can keep my jcw charger with jcw pulley in tact - and intend to go for a 16% pulley. I have the GP intercooler so temps shouldnt be too much of a problem so when the new charger and pulley gets done I will report back

Any guesses on gains?? Im hoping for in the region of 5-12bhp and 5-12lbft - my JCW charger is boosting to 1bar currently so isnt doing bad for 67k miles !!
I have the GP IC and the 15% pulley makes my JCW run better but the difference in heat (in the summer)is more (even with the GP). So the car will detune itself and you feel a more drastic drop in performance when it gets hotter. A water injection system will counter the heat and you should get the performance back.

plus the the more % pulley you go the smaller it gets , causing the belt to go around a smaller and smaller pulley stressing it more.

You will like it, I promise.
Thanks for that - I was hoping the increase in torque and like you say that fact that higher boost that comes in earlier will make the difference very noticable...

Those are valid points and something that I have thought about - surely the hotter temps will only be a problem if 'pushing' when its hot ? As long as I dont test the car quite so hard when ambients are high I shouldnt see problems from temp clipping... ?? Ive currently got a 7.4k rpm rev limit too so will be dropping that a touch, probably to match the GP rev limit, when the new pulley goes on - jsut as Im on the cautious side...

True - I get an oil change at more frequent intervals than normal - at least once a year, usually every 6 months, so I guess I will just need to add a belt change during the oil service from now Modding a car does mean that you need to treat it a little differently so its not a problem for me to have to spend a little more on servicing/maintenance... Thanks though.

FYI- Madness will only rent you their puller if you buy their pulley.

Thanks Im hoping for a nice big kick of torque - I recon that will be the significant difference between the two pulleys...

I will be swapping out the JCW pulley for a 17% soon, and installing an Alta CAI and new plugs. Seems to be some debate on the 380 injectors, so will probably hold off on those for now.

If you have an early JCW you might want to get the bigger injectors along with the JCW ECU tune to use them. Your engine will want the more fuel.

If you have the 210 version with the JCW airbox/CAI dont get the alta CAI as the JCW is better

I didnt get the new charger fitted as the charger wasnt up to the task and my existing charger was boosting very well so i have sold that on and have looked at a different approach to getting more power; I have just bought and am awaiting delivery of a ATI crank pulley in +1% size which although small difference will equate to a SC reduction of 13.25% over standard.... so a little more power and a little more torque is possible - we will see how that goes...

Must admit I think I would rather keep the JCW pulley if possible as if its taken off then there is no going back, which would affect value for when selling it on....
