ECU reset and RMW tune?

Silly question, but it's been bugging me. And now with the prospect of having to potentially disconnect the battery to do some electrical work, I want to clear my mind of concern once and for all...

I recall reading somewhere that leaving the battery disconnected for a certain period of time will cause the ECU to reset... Would this cause the ECU to fall back to factory defaults and effectively clear any custom mapping like an RMW tune? (I'm not 100% on what exactly the RMW tune is either, since the PO had it done, not me) I suspect the answer is no, since otherwise then no one would ever be able to disconnect their battery, which is kind of inconvenient...

The answer is no.Disconnect your negative cable and press the brake.I usually wait about ten minutes and the ECU is reset.
