so it took be forever, like 4 hours, yes i know Im slow, stupid ramps... to put in the boost tubes, but the end result was that.......the mini pulls. ALOT more. torque steer going into 3rd is pretty cool and not cool at the same time but thats ok.
-Volume- I dont know if there was an increase, some say yes some say no, I personally didnt notice
-the drive started out casual, there was no burst of power or whatnot when I drove "normal" but when I stepped on it, the response was def. noticeable. There is a big change in how the car spools up, I dont know if it gave me 10000hp, but it definitely spools a lot faster to seem that way
the BAD
-It took forever and I got destroyed my mosquitos
-And, I didn't put in the turbo inlet, even though it seems like its the most straight forward out of the bunch. but has anyone had trouble with it fitting? I did a test fit and it certainly looked like a No-Go. Any comments are appreciated!
it was really really really (and i mean really) hard to install the alta tubes. i was sweating like crazy. the fitment for the inlet tube was weird. its off on my car by like a cm or so. nothing is wrong with it as of now because i have had it for at least 5k miles so i have no worries.
i have pics if you want to see it. im just tired to post it up now. just got back home from work

def post if you can, by the looks of it, the part that goes into the turbo is barely shorter than the stock one; so if you push it all the way in, it hits that small metal hose.
pics would be awesome, and i DEF know what you mean when you say the fitment was hard on the boost tubes. I was drenched in sweat and got destroyed by mosquitos...stupid south east. The part with the throttle body was the biggest pain, its not even on there 100% its about 90% but its for sure not going any where =]
as you can see... this is what i mean by the tubes being off by a cm or so. this is the best i could do it too as well. i put a lot of force to putting it on. its weird how the fitment is not exact but whatever.
if its any body's concern, i remember that after putting on the tubes, i could hear the bov. its an ever so slight sound but its there. haha :P

My boost tube fitment was just as bad on the hot side tube.. Had to really really use force WITH my buddy who was helping me out.
I got it on flush, all the way to both ends, but I can even see the outline of the metal connection at the turbo imprinting through the black silicone ...
IT's definitely on tight, hasn't moved for over 1000 miles ..
Inlet tube though , I got the JCW tube it fits perfect.
The Boost Tube Kit IS a PITA to install in some cases. The area to work in is tight and as I mentioned in my how to article the right tools are VERY helpful in getting off the OEM parts. The ALTA parts aren't bad, but the OEM stuff can be a pain! But as you noted the results are well worth it. Maybe we can ask MINI to redesign the car a bit to make it easier
On the inlet hose being mistrimmed NO EXCUSE but it does sometimes happen. We try very hard to get them 100% perfect but the nature of how they are made does occasionally net this type of result.
Couple options:
1) return it for a better one. (MUST do that if it is short.)
2) If it is a bit too long, the use of a SHARP exacto knife can be used to trim it back to proper.
3) Hide it with the clamp. Meaning that be 100% sure the clamp is properly securing the part, but have the band cover the cut area and butt it to the MAF or turbo, etc.
AGAIN not making excuses, and I will again mention this to production today, but if anyone has one in this situation the suggestions above may help.
if I can help in ANY WAY please let me know! As most of you know I enjoy helping clients!
thats awesome that you allow us to return it. i appreciate the offer but i figure its kinda too late since ive had it for about 5k miles. i dont mind though but surely others do. you know how that motto goes, "if it aint broke..." hahahahahaha
but ill remember that next time because not trying to steal the thread but right now im in a bend on trying to decide if i want to get an alta intake or ddm intake....
its painfully hard....
haha

I installed my alta boost tube along with a boost gauge yesterday and the tube fit a little tight. It was a little short, as once i was able to clamp the tube onto the airbox, the airbox was out of the two rubber mounts in the backside. So far i havent seen any movement, but ill have to check again after my drive home. The gauge is great though

Right on! Glad you are happy. Let me know if any other issues crop up.
Well, I got my second boost tube on tonight. Had to go out and buy a universal joint for my socket set so I could loosen the OEM clamp at the throttle body. A real bear getting that OEM tube off behind the engine and then getting the new one on! My right hand looks like something out of Die Hard! But everything is working beautifully and now my budget and I are ready for the inlet tube! Thanks Adam, and thanks Cliff at Coast to Coast for the boost tube kit!
I had a different fittment experience - my tubes fit perfectly. Granted, it took lots of tugging and stretching, but they made it.
If the tubes are short and people are stretching them to fit, will this not cause strain and pull on the product or whatever the product is attached too causing eventual damage?

THANK YOU! Let me know if I can ever help further!

Shouldn't! Depending on what he means. The part is a snug fit and there is some cursing and swearing (see above client with bloody hands) that doesn't mean the parts are working against each other though.
Yep, once the Alta tubes are correctly positioned and mounted, the fit is beautiful! I did most of the damage to me getting the OEM tube off. Should have worn some work gloves!
