mod suggestions

Hi all,

I have a 2006 MCS with a JCW CAI. I'm looking to get a few more mods to up the horsepower and/or handling.

I'm thinking a pulley and Front Sway bar?

What do you guys think should be the next step for my car?

I'll 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on for the pulley. If you're willing to spend some money, get the pulley...15%...and then call either Jan at RMW or Brian/Hubie at Fireballed! Racing. Either one are in your neighborhood and will be able to get you a new cylinder head and a custom tune. Both of which are the best way to nice power...besides going turbo only. For suspension, the rear sway is the best bang for the buck, but again, if you've got a little $$$ to spend, go with a nice set of coilovers first and then decide if you need a stiffer bar to reduce under-steer. Follow up the coilovers with camber plates, rear control arms and a nice alignment. Also, make sure to ditch the run-flats for some sticky tires and the heavy stock wheels for some light weight ones if you haven't already. Good luck and enjoy the oncoming mod bug

I don't want to come off like a jerk but why in the world would you want to change the front sway bar on a front wheel drive car?

I'll 6th the pulley and REAR sway bar.

My vote's for pulley & exhaust. Sweet website btw. I've been a big house music fan for years.

Another vote for at least doing a pulley. Recently had one installed at EF1 in Long Beach, worth every penny.

Oh, also.. what about pulley %? I've heard anything over 15% can be useless and even dangerous to the car, but opinions are appreciated

i had a 19% installed by helix last month. i went for the 19 since i do not track my car, and because i was interested in more low-end and mid-range torque. i am not disappointed. good luck

I liked the 16% pulley, a friend ran 17% as long as mine no probs, so.
I liked the H-Sport REAR Sway Bar.
Steve is good to intsall stuff, good price.
If ya want more power from engine dial RMW.

Above 15% and you're generating excess heat for a couple horsies. "stage 1" performance-wise is intake, exhaust, and pulley. Add a dyno tune after that and you're preeeetty good to go, unless you're willing to sink thousands of $$$$. After the rear sway, you'll want to consider front camber plates to increase the camber up front (and ergo: the grip up front in turns).
