Again, Either pick up TELEPHONE or send the man a PM. My husband sent him a PM at almost 1 AM. Less than 5 minutes later, a call was received from Adam himself. So bad customer service huh?. Just learn how to communicate with people and you might just get it.

ALTA, can i ask why you decided to keep the stock manifold??
most other car markets, like the import guys, tend to ditch the restrictive stock manifolds forsomething that will flow better and make more power. often people find power just from swapping the manifold.
is there any plans to do a custom manifold later down the line??
Chris.
Thanks for the question! I guess the simple answer is, if it ain't broke don't fix it. The spool and flow rates are such that a new manifold is unnecessary and would only add cost and hassle. However, I would never rule out any form of future product development. Thanks again!
Any news on the release? I do have a question.... when you all got 270whp out of your big turbo mini, was it with your water injection kit to compliment it? If so, what did you all yield on straight pump? I'm asking because I'm interested in only using a 93 octane map.
We did have water on the car for those runs. However, we were able to run closer to the ragged edge without it. WE would suggest it if you want to be in that range.
With that being said, we are also going to be trying one other compressor housing to see what happens there. We will of course publish the info when it is available!
I sent you an e-mail a week ago and didn't got a reply untill now. Im really interested in the turbo kit and would like to know if it will work fine on my European spec MCS.
My complete apologies. I do answer every e-mail I receive. I will say that I may not be the best at combing my junk folder and sometimes things can end up in there.
To answer the question honestly, we don't know. I don't have an EU spec car to play with. However, we understand the importance of the EU market and will certainly make every effort to investigate the feasibility ASAP.
Well you're ahead of me, I still have yet to receive a reply.
Reply to what? E-mail, phone, PM? Sorry if I missed something! It would never be intentional. Also, sales@, info@, etc. are all answered by other members of my staff. If you want me then e-mail me directly:
Well thats not all it. I placed an order 2 weeks ago from ALTA. I ordered the stealth FMIC, turbo inlet hose, boost tube kit, boost gauge with pod. They replayed right away and said they will get back to me with the shipping cost's to my country. It has been 2 weeks now and they still didn't get back to me!!!!
I think i'll just go for the FORGE intercooler and intake and forget about ALTA's parts.
HEY I remember this one! The info we had is either no good, or the server on your end keeps bumping it back.
WE WANT YOUR MONEY! Hell I want everyones money
As a blanket statement, if you don't get a reply (excluding weekends) within 24 hours, PM me here. At least we don't have to worry about spam filters, and server rejections.
As a side note, I have a wholesale client in Swiss, that I have to use PM on another forum board. His local server / internet host rejects not only AIM, Yahoo and our e-mails. Stinks but can happen.
Again my apologies, PM me and I will get back to you ASAP! Chat then!
Alta has phenomenal customer service, if you have heard anything back they probably hit a glitch so give them the benefit of the doubt and contact them again. You might also want to post on the Alta Q & A thread as this is heavily monitored.

Beyond that I enjoyed the call! Your hubby was very nice (albeit a bit surprised!)

Perfect! I got your PM's passed them along to the CSR's and we should be back in business ASAP! Thanks again!
Supporting mods would be an assortment of gauges to monitor everything, boost and afr controllers, forged pistons, LSD, etc...just to get the list started.
I'm sure Alta and others can give you more specifics as I do not know as much about the R56...Hope that helps some
2k-3k + ~500-3k = 2.5k-6k...just a VERY wide estimate...depends on what you want
I am with you on that math. This is what I am trying to estimate. The obvious answer brings me to around 10 or 12 K pretty fast. That is doing a sane and well designed path. My biggest issue is the components do not seem to exist yet like a decent gear box, half shafts, clutch pack, etc. I think I am going to stay sane for a while, just ecu, as well as easy bolt-ons.
Yup, it seems like the needed parts to make this work as well as R53 turbos are not made yet...should not take long for someone to make them for the R56....

The parts are available for the R53 it's just a matter of if you want to pay the price. I spoke with a rep from Alta at AMVIV and he said you can run their R56 Turbo upgrade on a stock clutch. I have a hard time believing a stock clutch will last very long with 260whp, but I guess we will see. He also said that the demand for this from R56 owners was not strong enough for them to focus their attention on this project at this time. It was really cool to see the car up close though!!!

I do not disagree, I have run some pretty serious power through stock components on a few toys over the years. I actually got pretty impressive life out of a stock 86 VW clutch. It definitly can be done, the Cooper parts are pretty well built, excellent design, really should be able to take a lot more abuse.
However, reliability and a strong desire not to have my chops busted from calling a favor to get flat bedded home make me seriously more cautious these days. Heck I'm getting my nuts busted pretty badly for playing with Mini, why add fuel to that fire. This little go cart is pretty cool, with the right modifications ( apparently a lot of money ) it could be a pretty impressive joy ride.
I am basing my assumption about the R56 on R53 owners out there that have 260 whp and are using (mostly) aftermarket, stronger clutches. I am assuming the same will be true for r56 owners, that soon they will need stronger cluthces. The car still hasn't been out for very long, so I am sure there is still alot to come.

I know the R53 parts are out there. I am in the middle of getting the parts myself. I made my statement for the R56...that its parts were not available yet...R56: clutches, pistons, heads, ect...
