Abrasion on hood stripe

Had my Mini Cooper for about 7 months now...love it! Noticed the other day a scrape mark on the black hood stripe (possibly a rock ding). Not good! Any suggestions for how to touch it up? Was thinking of using black touch-up paint, but not 100% sure this is the way to go (?). Any sage advise is welcome.

I've had a couple of little dings in my stripes and have just used a black sharpie. But I would only recommend that for little bitty dings, not big patches. It's pretty hard to match the finish though, so no matter what you use, you're going to see a different "sheen" on the touched-up part. But it's still better than the chip!

mcdbrendan, it appears to have scraped the black coloring off, but not through to the paint.
