Clay Bar Remove Overspray?

Have some overspray on my new MINI. Used a razor blade to get it off the windshield. Did well no blade scratches on the glass. I used the sandwhich baggy trick that Heather told us about to feel how rough the paint is. Holy mackeral, it was unbelievable. A couple of my friends could not believe it either. Will the clay bar take the overspray off the paint before I buff/pc it?

Yes, but you are going to have to work the clay pretty hard, for a long time. Just keep spraying your QD every once in a while and keep claying. You might be looking at a little while per section depeding how much over spray your looking at.

Clay bar is actually perfect for this, as Jeremy said. Just keep going - clay when used properly doesn't SEEM to be doing anything right away - it glides across the surface and doesn't "feel" like anything is being removed.

It is though, trust me! I just got some tar marks off my Suburban with clay that resisted everything I tried. It took about 15 minutes per black mark and several hundred passes, but eventually it let go. Just work slow and check often and you'll be fine.

This is what clay was originally intended - remove overspray. There are different grades of aggressiveness so if you don't want to rub your arm off you might see if you can find a clay with more bite than detailing clay.
