Are you talking about a product like P21S's Paintworks Cleanser? If so I can not imagine why there would be a limit. It is non-abrasive and does not contain any harsh chemicals.
I guess the question should be - why would you need to use it more than twice a year? You would only want to use it during the stripping phase of your waxing routine along with clay. If you use the right products you may need to do this at most 3 times a year.

Really depends on how abrasive it is. For instance Meg CleanerWax took 7 apps with elbow grease to burn through the clear on a suby, where as ScratchX took 12 apps with same cloth and pressure.
This was on a panel that was being repaired so I did a test to see how abrasive these were vs 2000 grit compound the paint folks sent me.
