Prima and Meguiar's Pads

I'm pretty well stocked up on Mequiar's pads and really don't want to order a new set. Is it safe to say :

Amigo / Swirl with 8006
Epic with 9006

Sadly no. Amigo and Swirl work best with the White and Charcoal Lake Country pads. The W8006 pad isn't as dense and doesn't cut the same way as the LC pads do. I did not have acceptable results with the Megs pads and Amigo/Swirl unfortunately Though I haven't tried, Swirl MAY work better with the W7006 cutting pad, but I have no idea--since I don't use that pad with the PC.

Oh man! I placed a rush order with Heather yesterday for my Pre-Dragon detailing this weekend. She thought I'd be ok with the following so I didn't order a new set of pads :

Epic - 9006
Amigo - 8006
Swirl - 7006

Does anyone know if "local" shops carry the LC pads?

Also what's the recommended product / pad usage for the LC pads and Prima products?

If Heather said they will work, they will probably work. Call her back if you want.
I usually use a white pad for Swirl and Amigo and a black pad for Epic. For really nasty scratches I'll use an orange pad with Swirl.

Hopefully last question - Will the LC pads work with my Mequiars backing plate or will I need another one of those too?

Local shops are :
Napa
O'Reilly's
AutoZone
AdvanceAutoParts

If you have the 6" pads and plate from Meg w/the Velcro, it will work with the LC pads too. I actually don't think they are exactly 6" but that is what I call them to distinguish them from the 4" size. They are the standard middle size of most pads systems which go from 4" to 6" and then 8".

I agree that in theory the W7006 cutting pad should work well with Swirl, but just like Richard I don't know from actual experience so it's hard to say...

Although I was hoping that the Megs pads would work with Amigo and Swirl, and in theory Amigo should at least work, Richard knows best- he's actually tried the combo and I have not.

The Prima polishes were designed specifically to work with the densities & styles of the Lake Country pads.

Sorry PredMini that we didn't get the LC pads in yesterday's order!

-Heather
