I'm turning OCD, I think I'm turning OCD...

I really think so

This morning I went out to get in my car and drive to work but it was covered in green pollen and it had sprinkled a bit last night and it looked REALLY nasty. I was all dressed up for work but got out the hose and sprayed down my car.:impatient

Anyone else have this infliction???

You are not alone, Stewie <hugs>

This morning, as I'm driving to work, a truck in front of me dropped a bag of something...chalk, cement powder, or something....a dry, white, powdery mess.

There was nowhere for me to go....except through this massive cloud of white crap. My beautifully washed and shiny CR MCSC is now coated in a lovely white powder. She looks as if I rolled her in flour.

I spent the remainder of my commute contemplating how I could wiggle out of an 8:30AM meeting with an Exec VP in order to go home and wash/wax her. Resisting all temptation, I came into the office and will attend the meeting - but I'll be taking an extended lunch to go and return her to her previously pristine condition.

The OCDer in me is going mad :impatient tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.....I can't stand it. She's out there, covered in "something", and looking very non-MINI-esque in her filth.

I've been in the office for 20 minutes, and 2 employees have approached me already with the..."WHAT happened to your car" comments.

I feel like snapping their little heads off with a smartass comment..."It's a new look I'm going for, what do you think?"

Mine was covered in yellow pollen. I thought if I just went fast enough on the way to work, it'd blow off. Unfortunately, I work in DC and as fast as I got was a brief stretch at 40mph. It didn't work.

Sounds like SOMEBODY needs a fresh coat of wax...
No, that wouldn't really help, but I had to say it anyway.

I've only had the car 3 days. And my dealer put on teflon wax as part of their normal prep! (No charge!)

I hear ya. Thats why I got out the hose. Unfortunatly its sitting outside of my office right now turning green again. I usually park it in the indoor office garage but I misplaced my key to get in this morning . Maybe it will rain this afternoon

I take it you are loving your car!!!

I hope its not cement or anything corrosive
Its good to know there are others out there as crazy as I am. If my husband would have seen me he would have just given me one of these....

My Mini was less than a week old when he experienced his first rain. I made it a point to get up early before work the next day to clean him up. There I was, in a skirt and heels, with MF in one hand and QD in the other, carefully inspecting every square inch of Henry for that last rogue water spot. What the neighbors must think, I haven't the foggiest.

You know the really crazy thing is, I've been walking around all morning with water spots on my black patent leather shoes (from the hose down) and didnt notice until just now I just wiped them clean with my micro fiber towel I keep in the MINI

If I see a puddle in the road with a freshly waxed car, I'll turn around to avoid the puddle and then reroute my trip, now that's OCD.

You people are high I mean I keep my MINI clean & am a bit obsessive during my detail process but it gets washed every week & that's it. I don't wash it every time a raindrop or spec of dirt falls on it

There is hard water with cement powder sitting on my car right now and I'm not sure if I want to clean it now or wait until the rain comes tomorrow. Someone help, it's making me quite anxious...

Oh gosh... where do I begin? I was washing my car in my heels and a skirt yesterday before leaving for a work meeting because, horror of horrors, DIRT WAS SHOWING.

I don't care. Luckily the Mini's small enough that wiping it down after a downpour or a quick wash doesn't take very long!!!

True dat.... I've got my wipe-down process down to less than 7 minutes, front back and sides. Trim adds like another 10 though...

OMG! I know I've gone INSANE! Between my DS/W Checkered MCS and my Flame painted black (never buy a black car if you are OCD) PT Cruiser Turbo I feel the need to wash a car all the time! I'm going out in the PT tomorrow (not the MCS because the weather is forcasted to rain and I love it more) so I feel I need to wash the PT today. Afterall it sprinkled while I was driving it a couple of days ago - did I say it will be raining tomorrow!?! I didn't get time to wash it by hand today because - it is already RAINING! I'm flipped because it has spots. I won't even drive the MINI because it's raining! Totally and completely NUTS!!!

It rained Sunday and I haven't washed my MINI since. It's driving me insane, but I haven't had time.

Probably tonight...like in another half hour

that's the norm.

then you'll stop going to stores when that "one" nice parking spot is taken.

then after that you get another car to do daily tasks ... then you get to my level.

I told my parents I can't go to school due to driving my clean car through 4 construction zones... they didn't buy it, but they did say they would buy my next bottles of Mystique, Hydro, and a Waffleweave for keeping our cars so clean...

The construction zones are making me lose sleep...

Ahhh, Clara is clean again. I can sleep soundly tonight.

Stupid though, I'm just driving to Vegas on Thursday so she will be full of bugs in less than 48 hours...
