Just wanted some input about, which QD to consider. I plan on using a sealant such as Klasse or Epic, then follow up with a top coat of carnuba such as P21s. My question is, since the carnuba doesn't last, should I use a carnuba based QD or a non-carnuba like Slick or similar? Would the polymer based QD be compatible with the P21s wax? I realize that the carnuba coating will diminish as the weeks go by exposing more of the sealant base. Also, what are the merits of one over the other?
Slick is fine for use over natural waxes, though a Carnauba based QD would probably help your top coat last longer. If you are set on top coating the synthetic wax with Carnauba, perhaps you should look at a spray on wax to help your top coat last longer. Once it stops adhering, you know it is time to either switch to Hydro or re-apply your Carnauba again.
Merits - some say they like the looks of the natural waxes better, while some (like myself) prefer the long lasting qualities of the synthetic waxes.
I'm contemplating purchasing either Slick or Hydro now to keep my Mini sparkling until it needs it's first major detailing job. I plan on using synthetic wax (Epic) when the time comes. Which one would be best? Also, what's recommended on the exterior plastic bits (i.e. wheel arches, etc)?
Typically the recommendation is to use the same-branded QD, as it is chemically designed to bond with your wax and compliment its looks.
But I don't think there is one for Klasse. If you are QDing over carnuba then I would use a carnuba QD. If you are going over the klasse itself then probably any product will do.

I suppose I would recommend the Hydro. It will give you some wax protection until you do a real wax job with Epic, it will give your paint some nice shine and it is safe for your trim (won't cause white marks). If you are looking for trim dressing I would suggest Wizard's Black Renew (available at www.DetailersParadise.com ) over anything else.
