Well as if I didn't spend enough money at DP....
Basically after close to 4 hours of detailing my SLK I still wasn't quite satisfied with the final results. Mind you my car is 6 years old, before I knew about claying, synthetic waxes, etc. I was doing the normal wash and wax bit. Well...the final straw broke late last night! I need to bring my SLK paint back to life! Using up my old products was my mistake, and i noticed the swirl marks on my car
I think the only thing I did right for my car detailing was the claying and getting a bottle of Meguiars Gold Class Endurance High Gloss for my tires. Is it just me or does that stuff smell like Grape Jelly????
Eugene will be getting a stretch of good weather which will help me so my detailing won't go to waste (yes we rain too much here!). So time to detail my car...AGAIN
Last night I decided to put an order in for:
- Amigo
- Swirl
- 303 Protectant
- Gallon Mystique
- Gallon Clarity
- Gallon Hydro
I blame you Heather for making me into a Prima kinda guy
Heather and NAMers any suggestions for Amigo and Swirl? If I use Swirl after claying, would I need to go to Amigo and then to Epic or can I jump to Epic?

If you have 6 years worth of swirls I recommend getting a PC to get rid of them. Plus get the OG video on how to use the PC as it will help you a bunch

You should use Amigo between Swirl and Epic, yeah... It's a glaze and will help remove any trace hazing that you might get with the Swirl. Heather told me that with Swirl (which is fairly agressive), to use only a small ammount of product and work it in very well, allowing the compound to break down into very fine particles. If you're using the Porter Cable to polish, use a white (non-cutting) pad with the Swirl. If using your hand, just use it sparingly and check often - no need to keep rubing after the swirling is gone.
Good luck!
PS - I bought a gallon jug of Slick last fall, so I feel your pain.

Thanks for the big gallon order!!
Yes, just as ImagoX said- Swirl then Amigo then Epic.

i hate that stuff. one of the few (?) things octaneguy and i do not agree on.
that grape jelly is so damn thick it does not spread well at all. since it doesn't
spread well, you end up chunking it up and then it flies off when you're motoring.
i use the thin InsaneShine by meguiar's. this stuff is the prima of all
generic off-the-shelf tire sauce imho. just use a very little
amount and it won't glaze up into a sugar coated dunkin donuts
that has been sitting in the office too long...
