MF bonnets for PC

Watched OG's DVD again today while home sick and made the decision to invest in some MF bonnets for my PC. Will the ones from Griot's do the trick or are there better, yet afforadbale options out there?

P.S. I think a Monster Fluffy bonnet would change my life....

on dark colored cars when i have some smears on it.

I've never had a MF bonnet mar the finish. Must be the Griots one that do that.

The Meguiar's bonnets have never marred the finish.

I use the bonnet on all paint types--light or dark. But sometimes, some paints are so scratch sensitive that using your hand to wipe off dried wax will instill new swirls in the paint. In this case, a MF bonnet is essential and literally the only way to remove the wax without instilling more swirls.

Maybe Ken had some dirt or other hard wax particles on the paint before he used the bonnet??

Richard

Sadly Meguiar's recently decided to discontinue them cause they weren't selling fast enough?? Just like their brushes and why you find them all at Big Lots now.

http://www.autodetailingsolutions.com/Meguiar's%20Professional%20Pads%20&%20Bonnets.htm

ADS sells bonnets too but they are out of stock for another week.

this should do the trick
griots mf bonnet

im assuming the fact that "it can cause heat build up if used on other PC's" is a ploy to buy from griots. that and a cutting pad from DP should work alright correct?

Yep, I tried to order those bonnets, but they were out of stock at ADS. So I will order them when they are back in stock.

the only one that's good till March1 is the free 8oz SprayOn wax.

Type in PBA900 during check out. the stuff is amazing
too. that and SpeedShine are my favorite detailing products from them.

although Best of Show wax is real nice too. im currently testing
durability side by side with Epic on my salted ikky Legacy. will find out
in about 4 weeks when i wash it. as far as finish, definitely nice.

Yeah, but remember...that means I'm pretty restricted. But yeah, I get essentially one out of the four tires free. On top of any other sale prices I can find. So it's not bad in the slightest...and I DO believe in our tires. I really do.

If you want to get the benefits of a bonnet without using one, all you need is a stiff cutting pad--like a Meguiar's W7006 pad and a MF towel. A soft pad won't allow you to apply as much pressure to get the wax off. For the MF towel, you don't want a heavy plush one like a Monster Fluffy though.

It should be thinner with less "plushness".

This technique works best on flat surfaces but can be used on vertical surfaces too with care.

Lay the towel on the paint. Place the PC with the stiff pad in the center of the towel, and turn it on --speed 5---the towel will stick to the pad, and now you can buff off the dried wax.

The towel will spin like mad but that's ok. On vertical surfaces, you can grab the edge of the towel or adjust it so it won't get twisted into the PC and get jammed--you KNOW common sense?

Richard
