Good job. One suggestion is to keep a small compact tripod in your detailing kit, or use a bucket or anything to take a timer photo so that you don't get blurry shots under low light situations. I have to deal with that all the time since the days are shorter, and makes it impossible to do any hand held shots.

You got any BEFORE shots of what the car looked like or any of the issues that may have been corrected?? Just curious.

Oh and you 'MIGHT' want to blur out the license plate pix--a lot of my high end customers don't want their plates advertised on the net for easy picking by thieves.

Thanks!

Richard

Thanks. Sorry no before shots, but the tripod is a good idea. We are in the process of detailing a 1966 Chevelle. Should finish tomorrow. It is a very detailed process for this one. Just started the M83. We are going to M80, then Amigo, then Epic, but time will tell.

Cool. What color is the Chevelle? Are you doing the test spots? If so, be sure to take a picture of that. Remember you need to decide the process after you've perfected one spot. Sometimes it's not necessary to go from M83 to M80. You might find that M83 to Epic offers the same effect of going from M83 to M80 to Amigo to Epic. It depends on the paint.

Has this Chevelle been repainted? Is it single stage?? If so, SS paint is soft and precautions should be taken--you can burn high points with a PC for instance.

It is black. It has been repainted, definately not a single stage. We did a test spot and it took two coats of M83 and 3 coats of M80 to get a scratch free surface. Then the amigo and Epic should get the paint micro-marred free and super shiny and glossy. It looks great after the M83 but there is alot of micro-marring. After we did the M80 after, the paint is superb. Will post the pics late tomorrow night.

Anything nice to say Kenchan? That is the roadster edition. That is the top the car came with. The car is in a huge warehouse because he is the biggest distributor of vinyl. I guess thats why he can afford that car. He is a client and friend of mine, so any negativity please keep it to yourself.

Looks great. It must be fun to detail a car with such vast, flat surfaces! I some times find myself wistfully looking at flat panels on other vehicles thinking how easy it would be to use a PCDA on them.
Nice work, get some rest.

great car... but i do have to agree with kenchan on the decals (it's such a beautiful car, why in the world would you do that) but then again it is the owners decision.

that warehouse reminds me of my summer detailing for BMW- just with alot less dust, concrete mixers, construction equipment, and crap. (not the ideal detailing place... if you cathc my drift)

nice job, the car looks awesome!

Peter,
Another way to support your camera would be to make a
"BEAN BAG style tripod".
Stuff a few of your used/damp towels in a zip top bag.
Mold that under the camera and rest it on a chair or bucket
Again job well done.

Is this car expensive or something? I could totally smoke this guy if we raced!!!

In all seriousness though, what a sick car. I'm a huge fan of that orange and any guy that has the guts to purchase it in that color is considered cool in my book. Where in Jersey is this btw? (North, Central, South)? I think I may have seen him once or twice on 78.

Oh yeah, great job on the detail too that thing sure is sparkling.

Excellent idea. I find myself using anything nearby that's the right height to use to stabilize the camera when I forget my tripod. Trashcans, rolling carts, tables all make good "platforms".

Looks great, Peter!! What a fun car to work on. I'm glad to hear that you found a good combo for getting it to look so amazing.

That's a very cool color too. What fun!
