Thanks to Octane Guy for my PW's beauty

I wanted to take a moment to thank Richard (OctaneGuy) for the work he did on my Pepper White MINI (see thread below). If you could see the car up close you would be shocked at how beautiful if turned out. It actually looks far better than the day I drove it off the lot.

The entire experience was very positive. He is truly the consummate professional and immediately puts you at ease about any fears you might have about the detailing process. For instance, I had great fear of a polisher coming close to my new car and he explained the whole process to me that put my fears to rest. Also, before he arrived, I was a little nervous because we've all heard nightmare detailing stories but with Richard you really trust his work as soon as you meet him. The work he did, and the pride that he exhibits in his work, is impressive. He toiled for around 7 hours to make my car look amazing and always with a great, upbeat attitude. And one more thing, he doesn't ever mind answering what are probably, to him, inane questions from a detailing knucklehead like myself.

With each step my car became more beautiful. And though I know he doesn't care for it, he was totally cool about applying Zaino. He said it wasn't the choice that he would make but he'd do what I wanted. This, of course, caused extra steps and more work for him which I appreciated.

Richard is a very knowledgeable guy and it was great to have him out to our house. He knows a lot about cars but also has a lot of other interests. Very intelligent and interesting person.

Well, it was quite a day. My car is beautiful and I learned a lot about detailing. So the next time my car is ready for its big detail I can do it myself. But I won't. I'll wash and wax it in between but the rest I'm going to leave to a professional. I'll call OctaneGuy.

Thanks again Richard!

Tim

re: Questions
I love answering questions, and I always encourage all my customers to participate and hang out and learn from the process. There are no secrets to my process. I know a lot of detailers get bothered by being watched or being talked to, but it's fine with me. I'd rather be comfortable knowing that when I leave, the owner has a much better understanding of what it takes to keep the car looking great after I leave.

Tim was a super customer and friend. I enjoyed hanging out with him and chatting, and both he and his girlfriend were super accommodating, and that all really made the experience enjoyable. So much that I'm going back to work on her car.

re: Kenchan and Zaino
Haha, Tim and I had lots of discussions on it, even as we cursed the detailed instructions trying to find out the ratio of ZFX to Z2. Hmmm, I wonder if we're going to Zaino his GF's car too.

re: Central Coast Coopers
Yeah man---we need to get you in my schedule!!
