First Try With Prima Products

To say the least I am impressed with the results of my first use of the Prima Range of Products.

I got the full range at the beginning of last week and thought I would try it out on My wifes 02 Civic ,not that I was worried at all to go at my 04 BRG MCS (yea right).The Civic to be honest was a mess not been looked after cleaning wise for I`d say about 18months .Not Garaged and is a daily driver .Oh worst yet its Black.

On initial inspection after The DAWN wash and Claybar I decided not to go with the Cut although now that its finnished I have to go over a few places that need that extra little abrasive ,just a few though .

First step was to mask off plastics /rubber / joints etc . Then use the RO with Swirl .Suprizingly I never had to go too many times to get a good result Bonnett / roof / boot lid was 4 goes , sides 2 times .

Then a go over with the Finnish with the RO 1 pass over did the trick .It was looking better and better .

I then took off the tape and proceeded with Amigo and applied by hand carefully missing the Rubber / Plastic parts ,well as best I could .Again positive results.

next in line ,EPIC I found that applying by hand was a bear not being able to judge to well how much your putting on . Of course I applied too much and it was a pain to remove . I was to be honest a little dissapointed at the result ,although The Paint finnish had come back to life the slickness was not really too noticeable .You see I was used to the Klasse and P21S feel.
That was the end of that days endeavors .

Next morning :::::: man is that the same car I left last night
Definate deeper shine and a slicker feel .I then waited till the full 24 hrs had gone by and put on another coat of EPIC. This time application was so much easier although again I put too much on ,even so removal was a breeze, far differant than the previous days workout .I`m not joking when I say the Lustre and slickness was even more noticable after I had finnished that second coat .I will have to wait till I can get daytime shot to show you what the Civic is like now .Although I don`t want to offend anyone . ::: note:: civic does have MINI wheels and runflats on it .

I did call Detailers and mentioned about the problems I had had ,and was informed that I could have used Slick QD first and that would have helped the application problem I had with the EPIC .

I think with the results I got on the wifes Car .It won`t be long before
" Bruiser" is converted over to the Prima Range. Thanks for bearing with this rather long post .I hope that it will help take some of the mystery out of a new product range.

By all accounts you can apply Slick then EPIC . I guess the Slick has a bunch more slippery content .Unfortunately I don`t know the technical stuff thats in the product . You might be aware that the polishes etc that you PREP the paint with, contains NO waxes so the surface is squeeky clean .So it takes a coat or two to make the waxes Bond and coat the surface therefore aiding in sealing the paint under like a second skin (which is very Slippery) . I`m sorry if that description maybe a little confusing .Perhaps Someone could chime in to maybe clarify my Statement .

You can also use Slick to help remove Epic if you've put too much on and are having trouble getting it off. Just spray a little on the tough spot and wipe. The wax haze will come up with it.

However, I find as long as you use very little (something a couple of tablespoons to do the entire car), and some Monster Fluffy microfibers, it comes riiiiight off with no problem.

^^ +1! i found that Epic is extreamly easy to apply when the
panel is warm to the touch. you can spread it very thin and really
need a few table spoons to do the entire car.

Slick is their quick detailer. You can use it anytime you've got dust on your car and want to make it look just washed. Slick combined with their Monster Fluffy is an awesome combination. It leaves super wet gloss behind, and yes you could use any of the Prima products after it, though I generally only use Prima as the starting point instead of a wash, or as a maintenance product. And yes, it works great to remove any hard to remove Swirl residue while polishing.

Yes it does ,sort of a Blue metalic when you look at it close and at a weird angle .

^^ hey, did you forget to Epic your tailights?

or is that just the angle of the picture? my Civic's tailights were a true
red when i Epic'ed it.

It seems then the Civic is the test vehicle of choice for us Miniacs.
No the rear lenses are a good deep red but I never Epiced them or the headlight Plastic I stayed clear of them this time around but next time will get them thanks for the reminder.
