Dressing

Ok, so I have been out of the detailing my own car for somtime. I have a 2 year old that is not ready to really "help" yet! I have a black x5 and the exterier trim pieces are looking dull. Any sugestions on how to brighten them up. Shes an 02. Only 1 more week until my ABMC gets here!!!
Thanks so much for any help!!

What a tease... bad Kenchan.

Detailers Paradise sells something called "Wizards Black Renew" that might be of interest to you. I've never used it on faded black trim, but it does look VERY nice after application and seems to last quite a while - I was out picking apples the other day and got mud, hay and grass ALL OVER my trim, then power washed it off at a coin-op place, and the trim looks like it did just after I applied the Black Renew" almost three weeks ago. Lots of other products I've used would have washed away after such treatment - pretty impressive.

You might have to PM Heather at Detailers Paradise to get it, though - I think they're selling it in their brick-and-morter store ATM but plan to add it to their web site soon...

Good luck!

I can second ImagoX. The Wizard stuff is really, really good. It will get the black back, remove any white wax leftover and not make the trim too glossy. Its also good and thick so its easy to apply. Tastes like crap though (but that a whole other story - icky).
Works for "girls" and/or "Godzillas".
Yes the link you gave looks just like my bottle. So I guess it is not a DP only product.

Meguiar's Professional #40 is an excellent cleaner/dressing. It removes wax as well as renews it.

turning trim from neglected

to brand new

Or in your case a black x5

And 2 year olds can make great helpers when they aren't clowning around

With a little guidance, they can even clay parts of the car too low for you!

You can find Meguiar's #40 at the lowest price at http://www.AutoDetailingSolutions.com

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier! I know, I know... for shame!

Anyway, yes, TLCerino, the Wizards Black Renew you found at calmoto.com is the one! I'd love to persuade you to PM or call me to order it from us, but we're all out... thanks to phone orders from NAMers! We expect to get another shipment in about 2 weeks or so. In the meantime, it looks like Calmoto.com has it too.

It really is great stuff. It smells good too- like citrus. We'll have it on the website by the end of November.

MiniMaybee- you are a very funny man... maybe in need of some therapy, but funny just the same. LOL! And, that's right- we are not the only ones who carry Wizards. I don't know why hardly anyone else does though! Fools!

I like the mystery approach you tried, Kenchan; although, I think ImagoX's direct approach may have been more helpful! Girls... godzillas?!?!

Whenever I get on NAM, I find myself cracking up! Sheesh you guys. I thought detailing was serious!

OctaneGuy- I like your little helper!! Very cute.

-Heather
