What if it rains all the time?

Trying to figure out what to do if it always is raining. I dont want to constantly wash the sucker, the wax is going to come off a lot sooner no matter what soap I use. I am thinking about waxing it again after only a week has transpired actually. I could do that weekly until I cannot anymore due to icky weather of winter.

nuts eh?

hand waxing is kinda fun. it isnt as rough as some think. Interior treating and cleaning is much more difficult to get it perfect than waxing is.

If it rains all the time then nobody can tell it's actually dirty if you just keep the big bits'o gunk off.

Just hose off the car every time you park at home in the rain (the neighbors will soon learn to live with this eccentricity) and the car will stay surprisingly clean looking.

Time and harsh soaps are what remove wax, or polishes. If you have to wash alot, use a mild car shampoo, and dilute it down.

In the summer it rains EVERY day here in West Central Florida from June till late August. Worse if there are tropical storms.

I end up washing mine in the garage and apply all waxes and polymers with a porter cable.

I detailed the hell out of mine one Sunday, the very next day a tropical wave came through. It also happens they are building a new subdivision across from mine. To say my mini was nasty was an understatement...

The last time it rained here I washed all three vehicles in the rain. I did get some looks from the neighbors.

I usually do my waxing in the garage.

If your concerned about your wax coming off, which Carnubas will do if exposed to constant rain, look into a good sealant.

I suggest you check out Duragloss 105 Total Performance Polish and Aquawax. This combo gives you great wetness and deph while providing SOLID protection for about 6 months. Just maintain the 105 by topping it with some aquaqax after every wash

Optional: Putting this on before the 105 increases its durability even more, just let dry to a haze, and apply the 105 on top of the haze, buff both off at the same time

I am as well in Fla, and this combo beads the rain up and moves it off like no ones business.

My car with 105 and Aquawax on it:

I'll drive it when i want to drive it.

But i always want to look at it shining. Sealant might be an idea. the griot's carnauba is intensely neato to view. The colour in the evening looks like real BRG from olden days. The mettalic cant be seen at night exactly, but, unlike all the other pics of BRG's, in the shadows, the car is strongly green. P21s or whatever Det.Paradise recommended is my next try for a deep colour.

You can also top Duragloss with your favorite Carnuba for a just superb look. I dont know how to put it in words exactly. If you want to try a nice looking carnuba for darker colors, check nattys Blue. Ive found that P21S isn't the most durable wax to last through florida rain / and washing,

Thanks, thats right before it got a make over with some polishing and DG 105 put back on. Heres its recent pic after a wash.

To the OP here is the look you can achieve with a great sealant topped with a carnuba for looks. I love this comba as it can be lookin its best when its dry out, and after heavy rains in summer, it still looks great with the duragloss on there.

Polished with pinnacle XMT series.
2 layers of duragloss 105
Topped with Chemical Guys Butter Wet Carnuba Wax.
