New Zaino convert
First off, I have been using Meguiars products for a long time, with good results.
The main reason I wanted to try Zaino, is my car had to be repainted a couple of months ago after a trip in a ditch that scratched him up pretty bad, so now he has new paint. I have been washing Poco almost every other day, with a wand wash, and a little QD. Not rubbing him with wash mitts, just keeping him clean.
So today I finally got around to dawn washing both my car, and StLouieLo's Cabrio. I then clayed mine and started the Zaino.
After mixing up an ounce of the Z2 polish with the accelerator, I went at it. Goes on real easy, but I found it took the Zaino applicator a few drops, and wipes to start putting the product on the car, and not soaking it up.
After putting on the first coat, it was time to buff. BOY OH BOY was I impressed!!!!! Worked real easy, and the BRG looked about as clear as a mirror!!
Managed to get a second coat on before dark, so I'll get another coat on tomorrow, clay the Cabrio, and get 3 coats on her.
Besides being easy to work with, it sure is nice not having to mask off the black trim.
Will post more tomorrow, with pics.
Mark

I totally agree! I consider the full Zaino treatment to be about the nicest thing you can do to your MINI! I have exchanged emails with Sal Zaino on a couple of occasions and he really understands paints and polish. He is a pleasure to do business with. I have an article on my blog re the Zaino process. http://www.murmini.com/articles/2006...ate-polish-job

did you use the cotton terry applicator pads they they supllied? it does absorb a lot....I use foam applicator which I lightly mist with Z6...this lets whatever Z2 I put on the applicator leave it and go onto the car

MINIMaybee and I did a full zaino on my car the day after he did a full prima epic on his car. He liked how easily zaino came off the car, while the epic took a bit of work to get off. His car was simply stunning however.
I do like the zaino on my car, it is all sorts of shiney!

Love the stuff.
I thought spending $85 on the exterior Zaino kit was crazy, but what the heck, the MINI was new and I thought I'd try it.
WOW. 1 coat of Z5 and 2 of Z2 (after claybar) and you can't close the door from the outside because it's too slippery.
Threw another coat of Z2 on this weekend getting ready for the winter. I figure I have enough to last about 3-4 yrs for $85...not really expensive at all. I will run out of the accelerator however due to "operator error". I bet that is the most expensive stuff.

Umberto - Anathema has a very nice PW/PW MCS while mine is a CR MCc. It will be interesting to see how the two products hold up together. You can see this thread Prima Epic for more Epic info. BTW I think the Epic was a bit harder to remove, but possibly because it was a tad colder when I took it off. Detailers Paradise recommends 50 deg F or warmer - I was around 45 deg F.
Lotsie - very, very nice . I could take some water beading pictures of the Epic, but today our rain was all fluffy and stacked more than beaded.
It will take a lot to change my mind about Zaino being the best - I'm hoping that Epic will do just that however since I can save on shipping and can pick up more any time I need to. One downside is that every time I go to Detailers Paradise, I end up with more of their Monster Fluffy buffing towels or tire/trim goo or drying towels or wheel wax...

What kind of 'clay' bars are you guys using? I know they come in different grades of firmness. I have a yellow and gray clay. The yellow is harder then the gray and takes more things off then the gray. I got it from an old detailer friend but not sure what kind it is. I just bought an MC40!!! Lucky me!!! Clayed it and still have some brown spots on roof. I think I need to use a good polish to get some old water spots off. Suggestions????

Re: your roof spots...
Do you have a PC polisher or are you doing it by hand?
