Griot's Lint-Free Glass Wipes

So I bought a box of these, because my OCDness leaves me with a hatred of lint on my car glass.

They're not *entirely* lint-free, but 100x better than paper towels. I'm not overwhelmingly in love, but whatever, it's better than what I was doing before. They're steep though, at $20 for a box of 150, and it takes 3 or 4 to do all the glass on the MINI.

Is there a TRULY lint-free product out there? I don't care if it's reuseable or not.

MF towels is pretty close...

i still use Bounty paper towels to do the windows. no trace
after wipe down.

Stoner's Invisible Glass used inconjunction with microfiber towels. Spray the towel, then wipe the glass down.

Yes! There is a truly lint-free product! Microfiber is the way to go. However, not all microfiber is lint-free.

I know, I know... I'm biased because I sell it. But I honestly get very excited about it! We literally tested almost 2 dozen so-called microfiber glass cloths before we chose this one. And, this one beat the rest by a huge margin.

Glass cleaning is a very subjective topic... each has his own version of what is the best because he uses different criteria based on his own preferences. However, I have yet to hear a customer say that they didn't like this cloth. And, they are reusable for years and years. I've been using the same one constantly for almost 4 years now. Still no lint and it works great.

Most importantly, per your question, our glass cloth is 100% TRULY lint-free. I personally guarantee it.

Has anyone out there tried it? Maybe someone else who isn't as biased can pipe in if they've tried our glass cloth... ???

heather - wow, 18x18 size? that's pretty big.

i like your multi-purpose MF towels i bought with Nero. that's a
nice size to work with for interiors as it doesn't drape down or
anything while applying.

I usually fold the glass cloth into quarters. It's very thin so it folds very well and is very easy to handle that way. As each quarter gets dirty, I use a clean quarter. By doing it this way, I don't have to wash the cloth for a very long time! I keep one in my glove box too. It also works great with just a wee dram o' water if you don't have a glass cleaner handy.

The multi-purpose cloths are good too. Glad you like them too! They're also lint-free. Their 12"x12" size is ideal for so many things... dash, wheels, seats, etc. They'll do ok on glass too, but I prefer the glass cloth... all 18x18 inches of it!

3 or 4 of those Griot's wipes for doing the windows once? How dirty are your windows and how much window cleaner are you using? I've been on the same box of Griot's window wipes for 2 or 3 years now. I could do all four of our cars with three or four wipes easily. I typically use one to get all the windows on my Mini, if they are particularly dirty, I use one for cleaning the dirt off and one for final wiping, occasionally with a light respray. I typically end up with one wipe that is very wet and one that is mostly dry that I save for the next cleaning cycle.

I've had mixed results with microfibers and other matgerials for cleaning windows, most of the MF's I've used leave more lint than the Griot's wipes.

Hmm...Maybe I'm doing something wrong then. I use the aerosol version of Hope's Perfect Glass (because it doesn't streak). If I use any fewer than 3 of the towels, it doesn't pick up all the cleaner and then it dries onto the glass. Maybe I just need a better glass cleaner. Or to use less of it.

not using those fancy towels on glass yet, but i use at least
3 wet and 3 dry paper towels to do the entire car (interior)...
so using 3-4 to do the entire car should not be an issue (?).

or are you saying you're using 3-4 per glass?

im happy with the Griot's WindowCleaner. works great so
far.

I've found that the Griot's wipes go alot farther than standard absorbant "Bounty" type paper towels. I typically use Stoners Invisible Glass with the Griots wipes.

You're the second person that I've heard recommend the Stoner's Invisible Glass, so I just ordered a few cans. I've never found a glass cleaner that "wows" me, so maybe this stuff will change that.

I found a solution!

Tonight, in my nightly Speed Shine/window wash (yes, I'm OCD, what's your issue? haha...), I had a go at the windows with the same Hope's Perfect Glass (found at any Bed Bath and Beyond) in the aerosol can. But this time I used one of the Paradise Microfiber Applicator Pads that I got in my recent order instead of a MF cloth, paper towel or lint-free wipe. I lightly sprayed down one side of the pad with cleaner, went over the glass with it, and then used the other side to remove any trace of cleaner. It worked perfectly, and was so easy!

The Detailers Paradise special glass microfiber cloth leaves nothing begind that *I* can see, and it just abrasive enough that I don't feel like I;m just smearing around the glass cleaner. I like 'em!

So, rock on. Thanks to Heather I had the chance to try out Detailer's Paradise Glass Cleaning Cloth and it is awesome. I used it combined with Prima Clarity and my windows and sunroof were all sparkling clean (til I drove through the mountains, now I have a nice bug collection!). Something about the texture of the cloth allows it to cut through whatever haze or streaks that might be wanting to form, and it is indeed completely lint-free. I can now sleep at night

I still do like their MF-covered sponge as well, just because it's so easy and gets into corners so well (and travels well too), but the cloth works the best out of anything I've used, hands down!

As for Clarity - great stuff. I put my Hope's Perfect Glass into the household cleaning supply cabinet

I haven't tried Stoner's yet, but the best window cleaner I've used so far is one I make myself with 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% distilled water. It does a good job cleaning, doesn't streak, and is inexpensive.

wow, 10x better than using papertowels! since the G35C has
large windows i used the DP multi-purpose MF towel as the Griot's
WindowCleaner applicator and used the 18x18 as my drying towel.

The thing that was bothing me most about using paper towels was
that i needed to be very careful not to accidentally rub against the
rubber seals and plastics (even paint) so that I don't scratch it. now,
i can be less worried while wiping off product even faster.
