Detailing Disease

I think I have it...

This morning I took the car through a car wash (I know, I know...but it's too cold here and it was a touchless wash).

I spent about three hours on the car after the wash...leather/interior treatment...wiped down the engine bay...cleaned the windows...vaccuumed...

After that, the floor in the garage looked dirty, so I vacuumed and mopped the floor.

After cleaning the floor, I was walking around to see if I missed anything, and I saw the brake side of the wheels looked dirty. So, I jack up the car, removed all four wheels, put some Z-6 on the inside, and cleaned the wheel wells.

Seems like I'm never satisifed...it was fun though and the car looks good.

Inside Wheel Wax gets best reaction

That's great! I get more "bug eyed" reactions when people hear I remove, wheels, wash & wax inside & out at least 4 times a year! Might be because I got the white wheels, but in any case, the wax keeps the road grit and brake dust from sticking. I also learned a little anti seize lubricant works wonders. The first time I almost couldn't get the rear wheels off! Now it is a breeze. You also get pretty got at using the jack, etc. just in case. Motor on.

Nahhhhhh ! Seems like the right amount of detailing to me. The cleaner and more shiny the MINI, the more enjoyable the motoring !

I probably shouldn't mention then how many times I've crawled under the car with rags and a bottle of spray cleaner...

Wow! Does this border on OCD? Yes, probably! Is it the coolest kind of crazy I've ever heard about? Absolutely!

VERY cool! I wish I had your attention to detail

Seriously, Griot's needs to sign you to do some of their workshops that they do around the country (apparently they're doing one in Lenexa, KS this weekend...and I'm really sorry I'm going to miss it!).

Anyway, keep up the good work and attention to detail Morris! You are an inspiration to the rest of us!

Chuck
