The next step for your seals is a light dusting of talc or baby powder. Moist seals tend to stick to glass or paint. Over time, the sticking can be detrimental to the seals. Apply the dressing and wipe dry w/ a microfiber. Sprinkle a bit of talc on a microfiber and wipe over the seals so they won't stick to the sealing surface. I do this once a year in the spring.
thanks for that tip. i think i got some baby powder somewhere!
will do this tonight.
JEESH! Why is it that whenever I step away for just a few hours I miss all the good chatter??? I've been out all morning and just now got in.
Also, not only am I two hours behind most of you, keep in mind that I have a crazy daily schedule:
10am- Start work (after a long, lazy morning reading the paper)
Noon- Lunch
1pm- Post-lunch beers (we have a "" in the bay...)
4pm- Margaritas
6pm- Go home

im gonna try this on my MCS's dash.
I see you ordered the Nero and the 4-pk of all-purpose MF. Big mistake! Ha-ha! Just kidding. Thought it would be funny to mess with you for a minute.
For application of the Nero, or any dressing for that matter, I think it is completely a matter of preference. Almost anything "works" as well as another... foam pad, MF, etc.
The all-purpose MFs we sell are great. They look like and are of the same "weave style" as generic all-purpose MFs out there. However, we source these from Canada and our manufacturer pays more attention to detail than any other we know! The fabric construction and quality means that they will outlast any other all-purpose type out there. They're extremely durable.
We do not recommend these on paint though... the looped, low-pile cannot be guaranteed safe on paint. They great for tires, dash, wheels, leather, etc. I think you'll like them with the Nero.

We keep kicking the catalog idea around. We see how successful Richard Griot is with his. Then we get distracted by all the other stuff we're up to and the idea goes to the sideslines for a bit. In the meantime, consider it a public service... we know how hard it is to leave a car care catalog just sitting without browsing all the time!! You'd all REALLY go broke if we put a catalog out too...

Don't even bother with the gloves, Matt.... you'd need a full hazmat suit to avoid this addiction.

j/k
Try a dab on some smoked salmon for a really delicious combo. Just kidding! Don't do that! (my lawyers are freaking out right now...)
Seriously though, we always trying products all over the house, etc. Here's a really cool alternative app... use Prima Slick QD on your eyeglasses and/or sunglasses as a cleaner spray. It is seriously incredible! Just think about the Slick attributes... mild cleaners, some super-fine scratch filler, and a polymer protective coating. Your glasses will be clearer and stay that way longer too.
Whew! I think I'm caught up with at least this thread now. (I think!) You guys go nuts whenever I step out.
With two coats, a day a part, it took a hard rubber bumper from 1994 that was probably parking-bumped many times to near new condition. The first was kinda thirsty and it absorbed a bit, the second gave it a sheen and smoothness that I never had seen on this car.

Ken, you are refering to the Griots vinyl dressing right? Won't that make the fender arches more attractive to dirt and dust?
I've never dressed my car's fender arches for this reason, but please correct me if I should try it. I did however clay them (Griots and speedshine) which made them look a lot better. Crazy?

yah, the Griot's Rubber and Vinyl protectant. does it attract dust?
i haven't tried it on the arches yet, so don't know.
but im also thinking about trying Prima NERO on the arches too if
the Griot's doesn't work out.
right now i have Meg's rubber and vinyl protectant and it's doing a
good job not attracting dust....but it's too glossy for me.

FYI: Nero will not attract dust. Most non-glossy dressings w/ UV inhibitors can be counted on to not attract dust. Not a guarantee, but a good rule of thumb.
**In general, it helps to wait 10-15 minutes after you've dressed an area (interior or exterior) and then give it a quick dry wipe. This will remove any of the dressing that was not absorbed (bonded, really). Excess dressing of even matte types can attract dust a little if left on the surface, so this prevents that altogether.
so after letting my leather dry 24hrs. i went to my G35C and touched
the various areas of the seat.
the areas i used very little LeatherCare felt dry and smooth as it did when
new.
the areas i used more LeatherCare (side of seat most prone to UV) felt
kind of sticky... well, not really sticky, but my hand didn't slide smoothly
over that area. is this area going to attract dust? when
it dries completely, would it be as dry and smooth as the other areas
of my seat?
so i tried out the Prima Nero tonight on both my MCS and G35C with
GREAT! results. exactly the type of matt finish I was looking for.
I am extremely happy.
I used:
1. Griots Interior Cleaner
2. Prima Nero
3. Detailers Paradise All-Purpose MF towels.
Nero's spray nozzle is very easy to use. It doesn't drip like
Griot's Fine Sprayer even while in the "spray" mode and shaken.
Also, it's low profile so you can hang it almost anywhere.
The MF towels are also a perfect size to do interiors.
It is A LOT easier to apply dressing using these towels vs
foam pads as i found out.
Here is a pict of the G35C dash. This is one rich application
of Nero followed by one wipe down. I applied not only the
textured part, but also the flat trim around the clock as well.
btw, none of that dress from the bottom of the door crap I mentioned
before.... The only trick to doing this right is to use the right dressing.
You can apply Nero liberally from the top of the doors and still get a nice
matt finish. I redid the whole car. no more Griots Rubber&Vinyl protectant
inside the car!
My car looks brand spanken new again.
THANKS HEATHER and Detailers Paradise!!!
Oh I will dont worry. I am just trying to use some of the stuff that was already shipped...that and I just ordered 35oz of R&V dessing from griots...so I cant justify the money..

don't worry their boxes come with return labels.
if i knew then what i know now, i would not have ordered the
R&V dressing from Griots and just ordered their Long Lasting
tire sauce for doing tires. And just use Nero for vinyl and
plastic parts. I guess i'll have to use up the small Griots mist
bottle on my fender arches...
R&V is about 3x shiny vs Nero. Nero leaves the rubber enriched,
not glossed. i highly recommend against using Griots R&V on
dashes. it's too glossy.
here's Nero on my MCS's dash... as comparison, Meguiar's Rubber and Vinyl dressing
on the door. you can tell a HUGE difference between Nero's subtle natural coating vs
Meg's artificial shiny black.
