I just bought an 06 MC and I have recently moved to the Washington DC area. Unfortunately the only parking available is on the street and I don't have the ability to wash the car at my apartment. So I would like to know if any MINI owners on here live in a big city and if so, what do you do to keep it clean? I'm definitely getting a car cover but beyond that I'm not thrilled about keeping it on the street or using a regular car wash . I guess thats the joy of living in the city, but I'm not ready to move to the suburbs yet...
Have an enthusiast friend, who lives in the suburbs, and understands/sympathizes with you on how important it is to maintain your car and wash it at his place every month. Offer to split the car wash supplies and it should be fine.
i would find another place that has minimum a secure parking garage
if that's an option.
car covers will very quickly swirl your car if you put it on while
the car is dirty...and depending on location, it can become a
magnet for vandals.
having a car in the city can get expensive very quickly if you
want the same level of car care in the burbs. reason why i
don't live in the city any more. i use to back when i was single.
