Anybody know what happened to Classic car wax?
Used the stuff in the seventies and loved it. I have googled all over the place and can only come up with a few vintage stickers and ads on ebay. Are they gone from the face of the earth?

I remember that stuff from when I was in high school. Black can, red and white printing - Classic - in script. It was a job to buff that wax off. Once applied, it became a permanent part of the paint . I used to buy it from an accessories place in L.A. - Vilem B. Haan (I was always embarrased to drive my POS Pinto there . Mostly, there were Porsche's and Ferrari's in the parking lot.) After Classic, I started using Collinite Wax, and then changed to One Grand Blitz Wax - which I have used ever since.
All that said, I think Classic Car Wax has disappeared, long-ago.

That's the stuff, except I remember it dryiong to a white glaze which came of easily. I left a very hard wax surface which lasted a long time. It was hard in the car and most of the effort was in laying it down. All the stuff I find now is soft in the car and hard to get off when dry.

If you like paste wax, I suggest you try Blitz Wax. Same family run company has been making it since the 50's. Easy on and off . Outstanding depth and clarity. I use it on my antique cars.
I've been using Zaino on the MINI lately, but a combination of Blitz and their Omega Glaze is tough to beat - especially on a dark colored car. I have a '35 Packard that has the original black lacquer paint (from 1935). It has, I don't know how many coats of Blitz on it. People say it looks like a brand new car.
OG's website looks like a 12 year old put it together; ignore the amateur appearance. Call and talk to John or Rick (800.782.3329), brothers that have been in the family biz since they were in diapers (or maybe even before). Tell 'em I said to call - it may even get you a discount.
They used to keep all sorts of competitor's products around to do comparisons. They may even have an ancient can of Classic Car Wax in the back room.
(disclaimer: I have no interest in One Grand, other than being a customer for going on 30 years)

This is one of those things that technology has changed, ie: polymers, etc. Computers have gotten faster/cheaper, as has your typical TV, (not plasma or LCD) etc.
Try the new technology and you will be very impressed.
