Wheel arch grease marks cleaning

Had “threads” of a greasy substance on the passenger side of my MINI – the ones on the paint easily washed off, but on the plastic wheel arches I have these marks left behind – any way to clean it up?

It looks almost like a scratch. Any idea what the stuff was?

Maybe you could try the peanut oil or the rubbing alcohol that is mentioned in this forum for removing wax from the wheel arches

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Sponge. (Do NOT let it touch any paint)

Not a scratch - the texture is still there.

looks like you picked up some gum or road tar (more than likely just tar) just get some tar remover (stoner's taminator works great)

Finally got around to cleaning them and the Stoner's Tarminator worked great. Removed the grease marks completely.
