Anybody know how many coats of clear our Minis have?

I'm looking for information on the paint coatings, specifically how many coats of clear our minis get. Anyone?

I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure its one. I think most new cars only recieve one. If any diffrence I think some of the more expensive car's may just use a better brand of clear.

I believe most manufactureres apply at least 3 coats of clear on top of 3 or more coats of the base color. Guess I'll have to do a little digging to find out. I wonder if the paint process is described in the MINI website.

Most European cars have between 4 and 6 mils of clear, in the body shop world that is 1 and a half to 2 coats of clear. No need for any more than that.
