Waxing...Cream or Spray???

I've seen these commercials on tv advertising this new spray wax from DuPont ("DuPont Teflon Ultra Premium Liquid Spray Wax"). Looks pretty impressive and it is suppose to repel new dust and road grime longer than usual. Has anyone tried this product yet?
I like the idea of 'spray-on' wax...seems more effective and saves time over the old cream system..
I wonder if it is safe for all the black plastic trim bits around the mini?

I saw the commercials and headed to their website to investigate. They're all carnuba based so I don't exepct them to last long.

I do one or two really good wax jobs a year, and between them I use Griot's spray on wax after every washing as a wax extender. I spray it on while the car is still wet (but clean), then use my microfiber towels to dry it off as normal. Works for me

^^ how difficult is it to get the wax out of your microfiber towel?

that's one thing i dread about these spray-on waxes...having to wash the
towel afterwards.

if it's just water it'll wash nice and quick by hand, but with wax not sure...
do you guys throw your towels in the washing machine each time?

Not "each" time, they just pile up and when a bunch are dirty, they all go in the wash at once. That includes the microfiber used on the vinyl too.

I wash my towels by hand in the sink with HOT water and dish soap to remove any wax from my towels. I figure if dish soap will take the wax off the car's paint, it'll take the wax out of the towels.

Costco was selling 20 microtowels in the automotive aisle for about $14 (cdn).

When i couldn't find the Dupont spray-on wax, i bought the new Eagle1 wax as-u-dry spray product and used it with my chamois...worked quite well actually!

I had tough guard applied to mine when I bought...No waxing whatsoever for at least the first 5 years. Was money well spent. I had the inside done as well including the leatherette seats!
