Airbag Warning Sticker On Dash - Removal

what is the best means to raise a corner of the airbag warning sticker on the dash above the glovebox? goo gone (citrus)? i am having difficulty getting enough of the corner up to grab and pull and i don't want to scratch the paint underneath.

thanks.

I think I had one of those and removed it the first week. I rubbed a corner with my fingernail until it pulled up. Then I peeled it off. Goo Gone got rid of the residue. When using Goo Gone do not rub too hard or the texture of the cloth could scratch the finish. Better to rub with greater frequency than pressure.

My MINI has blatant white/yellow/black airbag warnings on the two front sunvisors. I read on NAM that denatured alcohol would remove them but it didn't work. If MINI intended them to remain visible they should have bestowed them with outstanding graphic design.

When I got my Mini. the gal that went over the car asked if I wanted it on. I said no and she took it off in like 2 seconds. I didn't even notice it, she did it so quickly.

The residue left over can be tougher than it looks. Often it "looks" as if the sticker came off clean but months later you will see a haze in certain lights. A quick wipe with denatured alcohol makes a permanent fix.

Also...if you want to remove the stickers on the windshield shades then soak a sponge or soft towel in denatured alcohol, pat or apply the towel against the sticker. It will quickly loosen up and shrivel. Simply pick it of with your fingernail. It takes less than 5-7 minutes per side.

I just now caught that you dash was painted rather than plastic.

I have never experienced how delicate (or not) the paint is on the dash. I still think you could carefully get it started with a nail...just do more of a "hooking underneath and plucking in a vertically upwards" motion. Avoid scratching by bearing down hard or using long horizontal scratch motions.

Since it's painted you can use just plain isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol on the dash. Just may have to work a little slower. As you peel up a little keep swabbing in more alcohol to aid release.

I took delivery on my '05 MCS in March. On a cold morning, the sticker felt like it would be a bear to get off. So I left the car in the sun with the windows shut. The interior of the car got rather warm for about an hour at about 90 degrees F. The sticker came off easily, since it was more flexible. Hope this helps.

On my '06 Anthracite dash, I just used my fingernail to slide up under a corner and I just peeled it off. It was probably about 50-60 degrees out.
