ZFX LIfe Expectancy

OK, so I pour some Z2-Pro into a little bottle, and add the proper number of drops before shaking and applying. How long is the leftover good for? Should I empty and clean the bottles or save the rest for next time?

I think the word from Zaino is once mixed, the Z2/Z5 plus few drops of ZFX is good only for 12 hours....I think

Yeah, unfortunately, you have to dump it and clean out the small bottle. It's only good for a short period, like 12 hours or so.

The problem I've been having is the ZFX dries out in the little bottle. I go to add a couple drops of the mysterious liquid ... and it's no longer liquid. Admittedly, it may have been 5 months since I last used it. It's still frustrating considering the price of the stuff.

I must admit, the results are very good even without it. Am I the only one experiencing this? Check your small bottles.

I have never had a problem with ZFX evaporating. Are you sure the cap was screwed on tight?

I haven't had the 'evaporating ZFX' problem either. I generally keep mine closed tightly in one of those mixing bottles that is also closed tightly. Double sealed for my protection!

I have a similar question..I used ZFX for the first time, and within 10 minutes of using it, I washed out the bottle, rinsing it over and over again with dish soap. But, after a good 10 minutes of that, there is a white film of wax still dried around the inside of the bottle. It is too small to get in there and physically wipe it clean which I think is the problem. So is this bottle unusable now?

After rinsing out the bottle with hot tap water and a miniscule amount of Dawn, I then put in an ounce or so of rubbing alcohol, shook it up, emptied it, and rinsed again with hot tap water. A week later, the bottle looked totally resuble, so I used it again. No noticeable difference from using a brand new bottle. Not on the car either.

If you want to, you can also use a sponge on a stick.

The old Z2 was easier to clean with just soap and water. The new stuff is more 'oily' and sticky. So, now I just use rubbing alcohol (which is cheap enough). I put som ein the bottle and shake vigorously and squirt it out. Doing this three times pretty much does it. Then air dry.

Thanks. Aesthetic Creations did it at an install party. I had Art.com ship a Magritte poster to him, he made a few changes (S logo on the apple, and part of a spray painted grafitti MINI logo behind him on the wall) and printed it to perforated vinyl.

I am very pleased with it, though I've seen some things lately about the life expectancy of perforated vinyl that has given me some concerns. Mine is just a few weeks old, so looks new so far.

PS. Thanks all for the replies. Will rinse out the remainder with alcohol.

Yeah..mine is not in very good shape after a year and a half. Although it may have been from someone else polishing it too vigorously. I may replace mine next summer. I thought CF was still the only choice for perforated.
