Zaino Questions

I have a couple of application questions. This will be the first time I wash and wax my MINI. So this is my plan; correct me if I'm wrong.

Wash car with Dawn
(does it have to be Dawn or will any dishwashing detergent be good?)

Dry car (Absorber & Waffle Microfiber method)

Clay car
using This

Wash car again with new bucket of Dawn

Dry car (Absorber & Waffle Microfiber method)

Polish with Z5

Wait 30 minutes, wipe off polish, and go over the car quickly with Z6 spray.

Polish with Z2

Wait 30, wipe, and apply Z6 again.

Repeat steps (Z2) and (wait, wipe, Z6) and go for a drive and show off my MINI

Good procedure?

With that being my plan; how many ounces of Z5 and Z2 mixed with ZFX should I prepare?

What is a good container to mix them in?

good cept that i dont dry the car before claying... because the water helps to lubricate the clay.... also, i dont use dawn after claying.. i use z7

typically about 1 ounce of zaino with 4 drops of zfx would be sufficient to cover the car....

1. Wash car with Dawn
(does it have to be Dawn or will any dishwashing detergent be good?)
Dawn has an alkaline base that helps strip wax. I'm not sure about the others, so I just buy the good old-fashioned blue Dawn.

2. Dry car (Absorber & Waffle Microfiber method)
As mentioned above, no need to dry.

3. Clay car using This
I use wash water (not Dawn... a good auto shampoo) as lube... just slop it on, clay bar a body panel, wash, rinse, move on to next panel, repeat

4. Wash car again with new bucket of Dawn
I don't think that Dawn is necessary again... Just use a good auto shampoo now.

5. Dry car (Absorber & Waffle Microfiber method)
Good choice.

6. Polish with Z5
After BradB talked me into it the first time, I love foam applicators to do any Zaino polish applications.

7. Wait 30 minutes, wipe off polish, and go over the car quickly with Z6 spray.
If it is warm and dry where you are, the car might be ready in 5 min. Just wait until the dried polish comes off easily and leaves no residue behind. 30 min to an hour is probably safe for a cooler, damper day.

8. Polish with Z2
If the car has some swirls, I do 2 coats of Z5 (any more is unnecessary... if 2 coats won't do it, 20 wont do it either). I follow with at least 1 coat of Z2.

9. Wait 30, wipe, and apply Z6 again. Repeat steps (Z2) and (wait, wipe, Z6) and go for a drive and show off my MINI
No more than 3 coats in 24 hours.

Good procedure?
With a few tweaks, it looks great!

With that being my plan; how many ounces of Z5 and Z2 mixed with ZFX should I prepare?

What is a good container to mix them in?

ZFX comes in a tiny little dropper with 4 or 5 mixing bottles. 1/2 half of a bottle of Z2 or Z5 with 4 drops of ZFX should be plenty to cover a MINI once... probably even twice, if you have clayed recently. Add the Z2 or Z5, add 4-5 drops of ZFX and shake well... Wait at least 10 minutes, shaking every 2 or 3 minutes. If you start this activation stage when you begin the drying process after the claybar, your polish will be activated and ready for you when you are ready for it.

Welcome to the Zano Club! You are going to love this stuff and what it does to your MINI!
