My new PW/B

I am expecting my new arrival in a few weeks. I was wondering what was the best course of action regarding the detailing.
I have been using Zaino products for that past 4-5 years, although I just tried the new ZFX method and am a total convert!
I was wondering if I should tell the dealer to just do a basic clean up on my new MINI and not do too much since I'd rather do it myself. My last car came by rail, so claybarring was a must-do to remove all the rail dust. What should I expect with the MINI?
Do I need to wait a while before doing my first Zaino application?
Has anyone here used the clear bra in conjunction with Zaino? I'm wondering if I should put on a few coats of Zaino prior to the application of the clear bra or is this a useless step?
Thanks for any tips,
Annette

I would do just as you plan...tell the dealer to prep it for your pick up and nothing more.

I would clay it as you suggest but you can apply the Zaino immediately.

Do not apply the Zaino under the area to be clear-bra'd. The slickness will inhibit the adhesion of the film. After the clear bra is installed you can Zaino over it, however.

I do suggest the clear bra. I have one on my Zaino'd PW and love it.

Hey Brad...

Have you always had the stock MCS bumper w/ the Aero grills and side skirts? I was going to do the same thing to my PW/PW when it arrives!

Yea, I did that within the first few months of getting the car. Pretty easy install and changes the "look" a lot.

Hey Brad B, I don't mean to hijack the thread but I would love to see some more pictures of your car but there is nothing in your gallery to see. I see you have a set of what looks to be filk wasps and I'm thinking of the same combo,or maybe the AR1's, although I really would like a deeper rim. Just two days ago I Zaino'd my "Boo" and boy did it come out nice.

Thanks Brad, I was able to get a good idea of how those wheels would look on my car. I have H-sport springs so the drop will be close.

Congrats on your new PW/B. I LOVE that color.

I agree with Brad. Don't let the dealer do anything else on the car.
Then do it all yourself.
