Ive done a forum search and Ive seen good examples on how to remove tree sap. Thing is, I noticed the tree sap a few weeks back, washed the car, dried it and thought I had gotten it all off.
Then just recently, I noticed that it some of the sap still remains in the form of a white/crusty patch. Can this be removed?
A while back there was a posting on Autopia from someone working on a car that had sat under a tree for some time and was covered in crystalized tree sap. The suggestion was to use isopropyl alcohol (IAP) which apparently did the trick.
Try letting a microfiber cloth saturated with IPA sit for a few minutes on the stains you're seeing then gently wipe off. Note that the IPA will remove any wax (including synthetics like Zaino) so be sure to reapply.

Good luck.
I have a product that I'm almost ashamed of... "Bug n Tar Remover" by Turtle Wax. I can remember seeing a can of this stuff in my Grandfather's garage, so its a family secret. This stuff REEKS of solvents, exactly the trick to get this stuff off of your car.
Palmico has the right idea, whatever you use... soak the stuff off... scrubbing too hard will harm your paintwork. Work slowly and gently.
