Warning label removal??

Okay, I did a search but didn't find anything to address my question. I have an 05 car that has warning labels on the sun visors. I want to get rid of them, but they seem to be on there pretty tight and they don't seem to just peel off. How are other folks getting them off? Feel free to direct me to another thread if this has been covered somewhere else. Thanks for your help in advance!

Denatured alcohol. Works like a charm. Get it at the hardware store for a couple bucks a can.

As usual, Brad is right. Let it soak for 10 to 15 minutes, and that thing will peel right off.

Question re: "shiny" remains

I've removed the stickers from a VW, and based on Moneypenny's response on the linked thread, it looks like the same thing happens on MINI's.

Has anybody found a method that COMPLETELY removes the sticker/glue? Be honest, those of you who've done this -- is there still a shiny/discolored area where the sticker used to be?

I used isopropyl alcohol, and it left a slighly shiny shadow on one visor, but not the other. I suppose I need a bit more work on this one. I also tried acetone, and methanol, but they didn't work as well as the isopropyl alcohol. De-natured alcohol, which I guess is ethanol with some poison in it, might well be the best, but if you have isopropyl kicking around the medicine cabinet then give it a try. I have to look at an angle to see the shiny patch, which sure is better than staring at that label.

I tried to soak mine, but could not find a place with not so much gravity in it. Every time I put some on, it ran right off.

Just how do you go about soaking those stickers? I tried Goo Gone, or something similar, with very poor results.

Either roll the car over , or remove them per the instructions linked in post #2 http://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ht=remove+visor

Hmm, this link is much better than the other string I read on this subject. I will have to give this another try. Thanks!

I did not remove the visor from the car (could not do it without scratches), but I think if you can do it, that would be the best way.
Here's how I did it:
First I put a big Ziploc bag around the visor to make sure nothing would drip in the car.
Then I soaked a bunch of cotton balls with denatured alcoholthat I placed on the label (inside the plastic bag), and even though the visor was not completely flat (I needed room between the visor and the headliner to insert the cotton balls), the soaked cotton balls will stick to the label for as long as you need.

There's still a very light shiny area where the sticker used to be, but it's only visible at a certain angle and MUCH better that the stupid label...
