The Zanio thread was getting old, so I'm starting this one.
Today I washed, and waxed my MC.
One coat of cleaner wax. One coat of NXT.
I clayed the front bumper, bonnet and leading edge of the roof. Those areas take the most bug hits.
This was the first time I did not tape off the black plastic, and I had no problems. Took my time, and wiped any product off right away. Anything I did miss, Aerospace 303 fixed.
I'm a happy camper
The shady spot
What swirls?
Out and about showing off
Everyting feels like glass, but the front end chrome needs some work.
Used Stoners Invisible glass for the first time today, works great.
Much better than Eagle 20/20.
No point doing the tires, as I have to deal with gravel roads all the time.
I'm taking Wanda in for her last under-warranty servicing in the morning and will clean her tonight or early in the morning.
It is my very firm belief that if you take a beautiful vehicle in for servicing, it will be treated better!
I have to give her a good bath and do some interior detailing. She even seems to have a bit more bounce in her revs when she's sparkling and beautiful!
I do think you are on to something there Clo.
My dealer never sees my Poco dirty, and they always treat me very well.
They know I know what they know is going on with issues.I love that, makes dealing with them much more on the straight and narrow.
Lot...Poco's lookin' good, man!!!! Great job!! Washing/detailing one's MINI becomes therapeutic at some point, imo. Thanks for sharing the tips on your detailing products, too....always helpful!
Clo....I think you are right about taking a clean MINI to the dealer. New owners take note!!!
It is a therapeautic thing for me.I enjoy detailing my MC when I can.It will never be show quality, but if it shines, and feels smooth, I'm happy
I also can't help showing off

Clover
I agree!! Max got a nice wash today and I firmly believe this raises the rev limiter by at least 200 rpm!! And...I'm proud of him, so I drive better!!

Awesome thread! Your MINI is looking good! I am an NXT user myself.
It's also great to see a fellow MINI that is driven and out in the elements (i.e., daily-drivers, parked outside, etc.) I think NXT is a great product and does well if you keep applying with proper washing/claying.
Great job and keep it up. A clean MINI is a happy MINI!

Thanks string. Not looking to shaby there either.
Poco lives outside, does 100+ miles a day.The coldest his temp. guage has read is -52F. Lots of gravel back roads. He does have his share of pitting on the front edge of the bonnet, but so far only into the clear coat,no bad dings yet:smile: The windshield is getting very pitted, but even though he has taken some hard direct hits, Ok I stop there, don't want to bring anything on
Lot15--
Great thread and pix to boot!!! NXT rocks!!! Hmm, I gotta get my NXT pix in here too!! I'll post them after my next NXT clinic this Saturday--we'll have lots of NXT MINI's after this weekend!

I agree. A clean MINI is a happy MINI and happy MINIs drive faster.
I really like the fact that so far on this thread there are no arguments
Yeah... OK... but...

Ya just had to go and make this an animal rights thing, didn't ya?Now we can argue.
How many innnocent anthracites were harmed in the making of your headliner? Did that question ever cross your mind? Huh?
Sure, it's great to be able to say "My ride is so pimped, I've got a fur headliner...", but does that really make you a better person? Does it make your MINI a better MINI? More importantly, does it make the world a better place?
A fur headliner! I thought I'd heard it all. Now a perfectly cordial thread has turned into what could be an international controversy. Have you carried any anthracites of breeding age across your southern border, Lot? There are treaties in effect, you know... Fur headliners aren't just a moral dilemma, see: there are economic implications as well.
Wow! Threads can be so tough to control...
Please forgive me, Lot15. I really do love your thread -- and your pics. (I especially love the relationship between the line of the boat and the line of your windscreen!)
I use NXT... because it's local, i can afford it, and it gets the job done. I never waxed a car before my mini (my last two cars needed a repaint, and weren't really worth more than a car wash to make them look good as dull!) I wax once a month, booster wax (nxt) twice a month, wash 4 times a month, and quick detail in between
It's a pill washing and waxing a daily driver that drives ALOT (8k miles in 3 months) so i had to work a system in there, now i find myself still washing/detailing/waxing 4 hours after i start. But i like my hobby
Car looks great, Lot! I like NXT just fine
